Gold Connections released their debut LP, Popular Fiction, yesterday on EggHunt Records (Lucy Dacus). The band's influences range from 70s power pop (Cheap Trick, Big Star and Badfinger) and late 90s/early 00s indie rock (Stephen Malkmus, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse and Conor Oberst).
The band's previous EP was released by Fat Possum and was produced by Car Seat Headrest's Will Toledo.
Through support tours with Car Seat Headrest, support slots with bands such as Soccer Mommy, The Districts, Futurebirds and even a tour through Europe culminating with a showing at the esteemed Primavera Club festival, Will Marsh & Gold Connections have built a solid foundation for their full length effort, Popular Fiction, which was engineered and produced at Mitch Easter's Fidelitorium in North Carolina.
