The Symbols

The Symbols

The Symbols' trademark sound brand "spiritual porn rock" tells you what they're all about. This music is good for your soul - and your body. The Symbols' music invites funk, blues, R&B, and rock into radio-sounding popular music. With star-crossed lead guitar playing and vocals that seem meant to be heard together, the love, energy and sound of this new female-fronted power trio is infecting people's hearts domestically and abroad.

The Symbols have been hard at work as of late. They just finished recording a (first) full length album with the producer of Pat Benitar, Tower of Power, Cher, and Kix, and are proud to release it to you in 2015.

Since the band's formation in July of 2010, the Symbols have played over 500 theater, festival, and club shows together in Colorado, California, Nevada, Wyoming, Kansas, and Oklahoma, recorded three five-song EPs of original tunes, performed and are spun on a number of grassroots FM, XM, and internet Indie radio stations, been hired to play with their greatest idol Phil Brown, headlined Rides For Realities (biker rally to end child abuse), and have organized a total of 5 major charity event concerts at large theaters in Northern Colorado including The Lincoln Center of Ft. Collins and The Rialto Theater of Loveland, Colorado. The Symbols are in the press, with receptions from The Loveland Reporter Herald, The Wyoming Tribune, Scene Magazine, Marquee Magazine, Rooster, Bandwagon, Colorado Music Buzz, and The Music Initiative, to name a few. The band has released four music videos, "Kristin" (2011), "Shake That Butt" (2011), and "Good For Me" (2012), "Sparkle" (2013), with a fourth video, "Be Here Now" (2012) created and released by a fan and friend of The Symbols who worked with public access television. In 2013, Mer Sal and Jasco filmed a zombie music video for their song "Sparkle" which can be viewed on YouTube at www.youtube.com/thesymbolsband.

The Blackouts

Denver’s premiere aggressive all-female hard rock band! The Blackouts originated in 2008, through mutual friends in the basement of Kate Innes’s (guitarist/founder) of the band. It was as if the universe brought the perfect combination of women together and our lives were instantly transformed. After 6 months, we began to play relentlessly all over Colorado’s underground scene and beyond. Now a decade later, we are Rockin as hard as ever! Hope to see you at a show! (Ali Frankfurt-vocals/bass, Kate Innes-guitar, Angela Mundt-guitar, Hope Hinkson-drums)

The Humbuckers

One of Denver’s most exciting live bands, The Humbuckers never fails to get people up and dancing. With more than 25 shows under their belt at Herman’s Hideaway, The Humbuckers are road-tested Rock & Rollers with a high-octane set list and a V-8 delivery.

“They sound like the mix on my iPod” is a frequent comment you hear after seeing a Humbuckers show. They seamlessly roll songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s into each other to create a tapestry of sound.

Founded in 2003 by guitarist Chuck Montera, their lineup includes Pamela Crawford on vocals, Classically trained Glenn Martin on bass, multi-instrumentalist Leslie Draper Roy on sax, flute and guitar and drummer Rick "Boom Boom" Samuels. Their originals are influenced by Punk and Grunge of the 80s/90s.

So next time you’re in Denver, stop by Herman’s Hideaway on south Broadway. You may be lucky enough to catch a Humbuckers show and maybe even share a beer or three with the band.
