Deep Night with Dale returns to The Slipper Room for a special live season premiere of the acclaimed talk show/cosmic experience. Host Dale Seever (James Bewley) welcomes a stellar roster of guests including Sam Jay (Netflix, SNL); Taylor Ortega (Kim Possible, ); Fareeha Khan (After After Party, MTV); Chanel Ali (Night Train/NY Comedy Festival); and Lilli Stein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, VEEP). With music throughout by Shayna Dunkelman and a special appearance from The Deep Night Dancers (96B Dance Theatre).

About the Guests:
SAM JAY was recently featured on the Netflix Special, The Comedy Lineup. Originally from Boston, Sam was a standout of the 2017 Just for Laughs Montreal and currently is a writer on Saturday Night Live. In 2017 she was host of Ricking Morty, the Rick and Morty post show on Adult Swim. She recently made her late night television debut on Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel. Her half hour stand up special premiered fall 2017 on Comedy Central. Sam has performed at the New York Comedy Festival, Portland’s Bridgetown Festival, The Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival and Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival.
Most recently, TAYLOR ORTEGA played Shego in the live-action Kim Possible movie for Disney Channel. She has appeared on Succession (HBO) and is a regular writer and contributor to How Stuff Work’s pop culture podcast "The Daily Zeitgeist." Taylor also wrote for a Pilot Presentation for TruTV and, prior, wrote and starred in an episode of "Blank Meets Blank" on TruTV’s late night block Late Night Snack. She wrote for MTV's TRL reboot and worked as an entertainment writer at Elite Daily where, for two years, she covered everything from Lamar Odom's cheating scandal to Lamar Odom's overdose to Lamar Odom's physical therapy journey. Prior to Elite Daily, she co-hosted PIT TV's weekly internet roundup series, "Who Won The Internet?" and wrote and hosted Cosmopolitan.com's "The Cosmo Catch Up." FAREEHA KHAN is a comedian based in New York City. She's a writer for MTV Decoded and After After Party (Refinery29). She was a participant in the Riot x TBS comedy writers lab in 2017. She hosts The 'Sup Show, a showcase of female, queer, and gender non-conforming comics and also hosts OutCasts, a comedy show about feeling like an outcast. She's been featured at the Women in Comedy Festival, Chicago Sketch Festival, Austin Sketch Festival, Hell Yes Festival & the Brown University Comedy Conference.
CHANEL ALI is a standup comedian who blossomed on the Philadelphia circuit before moving to New York City in 2015. Her stage presence and story teller style make her a crowd favorite as she covers her upbringing, her world view and life as a comedian who doubles as a polite person in real life. She was recently featured on an episode of Night Train with Wyatt Cenac and has performed at Carolines on Broadway and New York Comedy Club regularly. Chanel has opened for nationally touring comedians like Rachel Feinstein, Anna Drezen and Michael Che.
LILLI STEIN is an actor in New York City known for her recent work as the character Vivian, on acclaimed series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and guest appearances on The Blacklist and VEEP. On stage she has performed with the Actors Theater of Louisville, The FLEA Theater and Potomac Theater Project. She can also be seen in the upcoming film, The Magnificent Meyersons.
Born and raised in Tokyo Japan, SHAYNA DUNKELMAN is a musician, an improviser and a percussionist based in Brooklyn, NY. Dunkelman is the founding member of the retro-future band Peptalk and played in the world-touring experimental rock band Xiu Xiu for 6 years. Dunkelman’s musical activities span a wide spectrum: She has performed classical and contemporary pieces, and has recorded/performed with pioneering avant-garde experimental musicians, such as John Zorn, Yoko Ono, Thurston Moore and many others. Current collaborators/bands include Balún (led by José Olivares and Angélica Negrón), Emily Wells, Du Yun, and Object Collection to name a few. She is also working on the percussion duo band nomon with her sister, Nava Dunkelman.
96B DANCE THEATRE embodies elements of surrealist movement, absurd humor, and contemporary dance forms. With roots in acting and movement improvisation, the work intends to dissolve barriers between audience and performer in order to create space for collective experience. The mission of the company's creative process is to engage in honest collaboration and conversation. 96B creates visceral works that are unique to various performance platforms, such as theater, film, gallery, and event spaces.
About the Host:
Your guide through the Deep Night is the Dale Seever. In his black turtleneck and an owl-shaped amulet around his neck, Dale opens up a portal to an hour of regrets, revelations, and rising stars. He is portrayed by James Bewley, a Brooklyn-based performer whose work has been presented as part of numerous comedy and storytelling shows across the country. Bewley trained at Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles and has made regular appearances at Joe’s Pub, Ars Nova, NYC Podfest, Hell Yes Fest, SF Sketchfest, Union Hall, Littlefield, and UCB NY among other fine festivals and venues.
