A haunting and melancholic whisper, transcending beyond the graves of 60’s rock and roll - Jamie-Lee Dimes authentically embodies an entire generation’s obsession with nostalgia.
Coming out of a year of writing and recording, Australian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Jamie-Lee Dimes will be releasing her forthcoming full-length album, March 2019, and will be playing a series of intimate shows across the country in the lead up of the release.
The new album is a collection of dreamy, pop-structured soundscapes, psychedelic color palettes; Personal stories, political subjects, and internal revelations. the project started in New York, working with producer Dylan Sky at Mission Sound Studios, Brooklyn. After relocating to California the end of 2017, Jamie-Lee teamed up with fellow Australian artists, Gabriella Cohen and Kate Dillon (Dirty Power studios) where they set up recording in the middle of the Californian desert. Crossing over from the dark, filmic debut EP, Liminality, released at the end of 2016, the new songs are layered with ethereal vocal melodies, upbeat rhythmic tempos, intimate lyrics, minimal guitars, strings, cello, violin, and slide guitars - heightening the new found freedom and enlightenment in this forthcoming record.
