Lake Ryan, Innocent Alex

Lake Ryan

Lake Ryan began writing songs and singing after he finished his undergraduate degree at The Juilliard School for jazz guitar. While Lake was at Juilliard, he felt boxed into a very scaled out musical route that did not fit his vision. Though Lake began writing instrumental songs at school and recorded a 4 song jazz EP, he found that he wanted something more out of his writing process and the ability to project a more personal message. When Lake got out of school in the fall of 2016, he moved to LA and instantly started learning the songs of great singer songwriters such as Neil Young and Bob Dylan, which led him to writing and singing his own songs. After 6 months of writing new material, Lake went into the studio back home in Oregon with his brother Evan Jiroudek, who had Lake record guitar on his own album entitled “Innocent Alex” the previous summer. By December of 2017, Lake finished recording and mixing his 6 track EP entitled “Times Change, I’m the Same”, and on the first day of the new year him and his brother took off for Athens, Georgia where Lake had his album mastered by Jason NeSmith at Chase Park Transduction. “Times Change, I’m the Same” is Lake’s first album going under “Lake Ryan” instead of Lake Jiroudek, separating it from the other work he has done and distinguishing “Lake Ryan” as a singer/songwriter.
