Green Velvet, initially created by house don Cajmere (AKA Curtis Alan Jones) as an outlet for his non-vocal productions and frequent DJing gigs, grew to become even more popular than the man himself, thanks to club singles like "Preacher Man," "Answering Machine" and "The Stalker." Jones, who had nurtured the Chicago house renaissance of the 1990's with his Cajual Records, gained success in 1993 with the Cajmere single "Brighter Days" (with vocals performed by Dajaé). Later that year, he formed the sub-label Relief Records mostly for instrumental tracks by himself and others. Besides releases from DJ Sneak, Gemini and Paul Johnson, Green Velvet figured on many of the early Relief singles, including its first, "Preacher Man" as well as "Flash" (also released on the British label Open), "The Stalker" and 1997's "Answering Machine." Jones began to supplement his Green Velvet DJing schedule with quasi-live gigs as well, and released his first LP in 1999. His self-titled release on F-111 one year later compiled a dozen of his earlier club hits, and the proper sophomore production album "Whatever" appeared in 2001 on his own Relief label.

Part mythical desert harlequin, part modern soul conductor, Mikey Lion is more than a DJ––He’s a freak of nature and a controller of energy. The San Diego-native has earned a dusty mystique over the past few years as the center of the Desert Hearts movement and as a house and techno provocateur with a stage presence that suggests he will ride this wave all the way to the top. If there's one thing Mikey does well, it's get the party started.
Lion has brought the mothafuckin' ruckus to the stages of Lightning in a Bottle, the dustiest storms at Burning Man, and The Do LaB at Coachella, earning nods from Claude VonStroke, Jamie Jones, and Green Velvet in the process. In doing so, Lion and his signature top hat have developed a boisterous voice in the House & Techno scene with strong tribal, hip-hop, and psychedelic elements.
But it all started with Wu-Tang and Daft Punk. Lion first found his way behind the decks as a thirteen year old kid, scratching underground hip-hop records religiously after school. At Coachella as a seventeen year old, he witnessed that legendary Daft Punk performance on the same night he tasted his first dose of psychedelics. The show had such a monumental impact on him, he gave up Hip-Hop and became a House DJ the very next day.
After honing his craft with weekly marathon DJ sessions at Sala Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Mikey was introduced to Burner culture at Lightning in a Bottle, 2011. It was at his first Burning Man in 2011 that he found a community calling and merged forces with his brother Porkchop, life long friends Marbs & Deep Jesus, and the inimitable Lee Reynolds to form The Desert Hearts Crew.
In November 2012, Desert Hearts began as a seedy, 200-person renegade gathering deep in the Mojave Desert. The intrepid crew barely survived a set of extreme weather conditions and unfortunate circumstances, but that first party sparked a fire. The entire point of that first Desert Hearts was to create as much love as humanly possible, and now that same gathering has evolved into the darling of the West Coast house and techno scene. The Bi-annual festival is capped at 3500 attendees in order to create the best possible vibe. Built upon beautiful people getting as weird as possible to deep and trippy house and techno, Desert Hearts has already achieved iconic status in the North American Festival Scene.
Desert Hearts has given rise to a family of thousands and it's safe to call it a bonafide movement of love. And while Desert Hearts Records launched in 2014 as a totally-free record label, pushes the sonic aesthetic of the scene, the crew’s busy international calendar of bookings has the DH message spreading far and wide. At the center of it all is Mikey Lion, the dusty prince of desert hearts, a beacon of weird far and wide, and one of this generation’s most compelling agents of love.
There are many techno producers whose works are devoid of the subtleties that would suggest a wider musical competency and understanding. Then there are those whose grooves are infused with painstakingly produced little details and a sense of wonderment that reaches beyond mere dancefloor functionality. Whether he’s producing thumping techno or downtempo chillout, David Gtronic’s sense of musicality always shines through.
Known for his bass driven, percussive sound but it’s those obscured flourishes of organic elements that colour his sound which really set him apart from the pack. He’s released on labels such as Vatos Locos, Suara, Monique Musique, Kina Music, and Chelsea Hotel Records to name a few, as well as collaborations with Santos, Hector and Leon have found support from the likes of techno deities including Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Dubfire among others.
His podcast series “The Terrace” has grown since launching in August 2008 to reach almost 2,000,000 downloads in total, showcasing his eclectic and carefully-crafted journey-style DJ sets to listeners across the world. The series has become a musical diary for David, not only expressing himself musically but through the artworks he creates for each episode. Whatever he puts his hands to, it’s always imbued with the sense of musical mysticism and contrast between the natural and the artificial that he strives to bring to life.
David relishes the challenge of crafting techno that reveals itself gradually to the careful listener, emotions embossed into his pounding rhythms by way of subtle textures and melodies that lay deep beneath the surface. His mesmerising collaborative mini-album with Dutch producer Lilith, Lagrimas Del Sol from 2013 has demonstrated his prowess in marrying eclectic, traditional sounds to complex dancefloor grooves, with pianos, cellos and much more woven into this fascinating musical tapestry. Constantly evolving, he has from there developed a deeper, more sophisticated sound which is obvious from his recent productions.
Most recently David has been involved with the development of the brand Vatos Locos, with label boss Hector and core members Chad Andrew, Hanfry Martinez, Javier Carballo, Randall M and Sece which has lead to events all over the world and most recently the launch of the Vatos Locos Label.
David’s stock has risen further still, with each release continuing to cement his reputation as one of techno’s more adventurous and musically-minded producers.

FJAAK is an electronic music trio from Berlin. Having grown up together, they began to create all types of music made with microphones, guitars and drums in a dark, chaotic and dirty cellar at quite an early age. After getting in touch with the Berlin underground techno scene, days and nights started being all about music. Whether it was chopping beats on the MPC in the morning hours or studying manuals, the internet, vinyl stores and Schneiders Buero.
Starting to gain worldwide attention in 2009 with an alternative and boundary-pushing take on classic techno, house and breakbeat they have meanwhile started their own party series based on all hardware setups and vinyl only – machine vibes. Starting off with open-air events in Berlin, machine vibes now takes place in carefully selected venues around Europe. In 2014 they signed to 50Weapons and have since released two captivating and very fresh sounding techno EPs. Modeselektor have hot tipped them to be the next big thing. We cannot wait to hear more.

Formed somewhere in the 5th dimension, Acid Mondays is the cosmic coalition of fellow psychonauts Negghead and Lex Wolf. Brought together by their love for fat beats, inter dimensional travel & cups of tea; they are on a journey of exploring inner & outer space.
Expect altered states of hallucinogenic house and reality bending techno. It would be a cliché to say they have a great future. But, they’ve been there and beyond, and have returned to the NOW to do it all again...
