Wild Powwers - Album Release
925 E Pike St
Seattle, WA, 98122
Seattle's grunge babies, WILD POWWERS, shows no sign of letting up. Fresh off a major tour of the West, opening for The Fall Of Troy and Kylesa, the dynamic trio, is now releasing their second record, "Hugs And Kisses And Other Things", with a nationwide tour to follow. They will be playing major festivals such as SXSW and Savannah Stopover Fest, as well as smaller, local venues on this March tour around the States.
WILD POWWERS has been described as "booming, potent, intelligent rock" (Grant Brissey, The Stranger) "that makes you feel like you might want to smash some bottles down by the train tracks with your juvenile delinquent friends while skipping 5th period," (STACKEDD Magazine). They've shared the stage with Dilly Dally, No Age, and Helms Alee, along with the aforementioned, TFOT and Kylesa, playing such venues as Neumos, The Fillmore, and The Fonda Theater. Their music sounds like the love child of Nirvana and the Runaways.
With this new record, their second release, they delve into a variety of musical genres, spanning from grunge to shoe gaze to psychedelia, while maintaining their glam creep strut that we have come to love them for. "Wet N' Wild" starts off the record, with an insanely catchy chorus that gets fixated in your head. "Sad Bath" is a heavy, haunting piece that calls to mind everything we love about old Black Sabbath. While "Ghosting" is beautiful siren song, if the sirens were tripping on acid.
Wholly, "Hugs And Kisses And Other Things", (or H.A.K.A.O.T.), is solid start to finish. It'll be weeks before you realize you haven't listened to anything else. Catch them on tour this March!!
