I play modern Folk Music with a blend of 1950-1960 soul filled vocals.
I grew up surrounded in both music and art. The Folk Music Center (the store my grandparents built) has instruments, sculptures, paintings, drawings and photographs from all around the world. It is an institution of creativity.
When I took up sculpture the medium spoke to me. I was able to create anything and everything I could imagine with relative ease. Teaching, is also something that comes naturally to me. As humans we are here for such a finite period of time, so we are only able to capture a finite amount of information. How we pass that knowledge from one individual to the next determines the shape the thoughts will take root as and transform into. If you grow up in a rough neighborhood with rough people you usually have rough thoughts. On the other hand, if you grow up in a gentle community with a gentle people you generally have gentle thoughts. I spent every day after school growing up in the Folk Music Center. It was a creative community filled with liberal politics, creativity and love.
Ryan Hahn & The Believers
Born and raised among the rolling hills of Kentucky, Ryan Hahn set out for the bright lights of Los Angeles to find his destiny. His journey has taken him far from home but never far from his roots. A look beyond his ink and piercings reveals a true southern gentleman, a seeker of truth and a storyteller.
His debut recording project "Farmers Son" is an insightfully honest look at the journey of the human spirit. Inspired by the twists and turns of life's winding road, these songs speak to the core of the human experience; Things like Love, Loss, and the power we have inside ourselves to overcome all the stuff that life throws at us. Whether it's a story of someone overcoming an impossible obstacle, the power of loving people, or just good ole rock n roll fun, These songs are intended to be an escape and potentially a ladder to help someone climb out of the hole they’ve found theirselves in.
One by one the songs have taken shape, and a band of Believers have formed around this old soul. Ryan Hahn and his Believers are coming to a stage near you!
