Diluvium North American Tour: Obscura, Beyond Creation, Archspire

Founded in 2002 by guitarist/vocalist Steffen Kummerer, German progressive death metal band OBSCURA caused a stir when they - out of nowhere - toured as support for the legendary Suffocation on the band's European tour in 2006 and independently released their debut album 'Retribution' that same year. From its very beginnings, the has band (named after Gorguts' inimitable 1993 full-length) demonstrated an uncanny ability for blending different forms of technical, cerebral metal into a coherent synthesis of death, thrash and black metal merged with progressive elements.

Now, five years since the release of the band's universally-acclaimed 2011 release 'Omnivium,' the progressive metal masters are poised to return with their strongest and most dynamic release to date. The aptly-named 'Akróasis' (Greek for "hearing" or "listening") draws on all the various elements of OBSCURA's signature sound and combines those qualities into a cohesive and mind-blowing whole. Produced by the band and V. Santura (Triptykon, Pestilence), 'Akróasis' is eight songs diverse enough to serve as a near-comprehensive introduction to all of extreme metal. Packed to the gills with virtuosic musicianship, compelling themes, and airtight songwriting, 'Akróasis' will undoubtedly breathe new life into death metal, progressive metal and beyond.

Beyond Creation

Beyond Creation was formed in 2005 in Montreal, Canada by Simon Girard (guitar/vocals) and Nicolas Domingo Viotto (guitar). For the first few years, they worked on their music without the right musicians to turn the project into a live band. In 2008, Guyot Begin-Benoit joined as the drummer while Nicolas left the to be replaced by Kevin Chartré (Brought by Pain, Unhuman), a good friend. Beyond Creation was ready to hit the stage in 2010, when Dominic "Forest" Lapointe (Ex-Quo Vadis, Augury, Teramobil, First Fragment, Ex-Atheretic), completed the formation with his six-string fretless bass.

A year later, the band self-released their debut full-length album "The Aura", which became a highlight in the genre. Since then, Beyond Creation has been known as the progressive, innovative and exciting new metal sound of their homeland, Quebec. Blazing their own trail through hard work, originality and a fresh perspective on the metal scene, their fanbase kept growing as fast as their will to push the boundaries of the style. In late 2012, the band had Philippe Boucher (Ex-First Fragment, Incandescence, Chthe'ilist, Décombres) take Guyot's place on drums.

They joined Season Of Mist Record Label in 2013, re-releasing "The Aura” and touring North America on the Decibel Magazine Tour with giants Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death and Immolation, but also in Japan with Sweden’s Vomitory. In 2014, they performed several shows, festivals and tours in US/Canada. Their second album, ‘’Earthborn Evolution’’ was released towards the end of the year, right before their Australian tour direct supporting Ne Obliviscaris and their second time in Japan with Mors Principium Est on a sold out tour.

The next year started with the addition of Hugo Doyon-Karout (Brought By Pain, Equipoise, Conflux Collective) as the new bassist. Always looking to increase their visibility and fanbase, they embarked on the Summer Slaughter Tour in support of Arch Enemy, Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, The Acacia Strain and Cattle Decapitation. Beyond Creation also played the large-scale summer festivals; Heavy MTL and Amnesia Rockfest and ended the year touring with heavy weights; Hate Eternal and Misery Index.

In early 2016, they got featured at the largest music trade show, NAMM, representing their partnership with Strandberg guitars. They then headlined their first appearance in Mexico, which included a sold out show in Mexico City and also performed their first shows in Eastern Canada with Gorod. In the summer, they toured across America on a headlining run which included some shows supporting one of their favourite bands, Psycroptic. Later that year, they crossed the Atlantic ocean for the first time as part of Obscura’s Akroasis European tour.

This year, they expanded their footprint to Colombia as an addition to their second tour in Mexico, for a wild and sold out show! To this date, they are working on new musical ideas and planning a few tours for the second half of the year, which will be announced soon. Stay tuned, Beyond Creation will continue to crush the metal scene and have a lot more good news to share with you in the coming months!

For the recent successes of technical death outfit ARCHSPIRE to come into fruition, certain variables must align. Talent, drive, creativitiy, and absolute dedication are only a few characteristics one may notice about the group, and indeed many have experienced the bi-product of these characteristics:

A tight live performance, where impressive speeds come grinding to a halt, and in even less time twist and contort into complex passages rife with beautiful harmonies, juxtaposed against insidious melodies. An attention to songwriting, focusing not only on technicality, but originality as well, take this sub genre and put it on it's ear. And the combination of musical backgrounds, which is apparent in much of ARCHSPIRE'S music, showing itself through catchy rhythms, interesting riffs and arrangements, and progressive passages.

Pushing boundaries of speed and endurance set only by the genre's top artists, while remaining accessible and interesting is no small feat. These Canadians have proven themselves worthy of touring and playing with bands like Origin, Decapitated, Hate Eternal, Abysmal Dawn, Vomitory, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Aborted.

When all the elements required align in such a way that they form something original, and interesting, it becomes a catalyst for something new... and in the case of ARCHSPIRE, All has indeed, Aligned.

For fans of : Origin, Spawn of Possession, Obscura, and Immolation.

Inferi is an American melodic death metal band forged from the bowels of Nashville, Tennessee. The band formed in 2006 and strived to merge the classic melodic metal sound with a taste of crushing technicality. After releasing Divinity in War in 2007 and The End of an Era in 2009, they experienced an overwhelming ripple of hardships, causing the band to lay dormant in an unforeseen state of hibernation. In 2011 the lead guitarist, Malcolm Pugh (A Loathing Requiem, Diskreet, Ex-Enfold Darkness) decided to reignite the fire. Recruiting Mike Low (Oubliette, Ex-Enfold Darkness) on guitar and Jack Blackburn (Ex-Vital Remains, Ex-Enfold Darkness) on drums, the plan was clear - musical annihilation.
Inferi sets themselves outside of the generic pack by mixing melodious, yet technical musicianship with virtuosic songwriting rarely since in today's extreme metal acts.
In Early 2014, Inferi released their third effort, The Path of Apotheosis. The band is currently in the studio recording their fourth epic release.

American progressive metal band from Maryland.

Torn The Fuck Apart

Since the formation of Kansas City’s TTFA, the band has been busy ripping people’s faces off with a relentless onslaught of brutality. With the release of their EP, "Skinned Alive” in 2006 and consistently playing shows in and around the region, the band began to build a steady following. In July of 2009 they released their next self recorded album, "Gods of Gore" and embarked on an east coast tour with metal veterans Monstrosity in support of it. April 2012 saw the release of "...The Dissection of Christ", their first full length studio effort. The band continued to grow their fan base by playing both locally and regionally in support of their new record. In the course of their campaign to bring their brand of death metal to society, they have had the honor to share the stage with such acts as: Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy, Origin, Nile, Dying Fetus, Vader, Deicide, Gorgasm, 1349, Kataklysm, Belphegor, Jungle Rot, Broken Hope, Vital Remains, and many more. In June 2014 TTFA released their second full length studio recording, "Sexually Transmitted Torture" on Ossuary Industries, and hit the road for a west coast tour in support of the new album. In 2016 the band partnered with Extreme Management Group and began work on their next release. Recently, they have just completed work on their third studio album and are anticipating it to be ready for the masses by early 2018.
