The Middle Ground
Joe Neary first picked up a guitar near the end of 2010 as an outlet for a broken heart. With a knack for songwriting, Joe quickly found his own unique musical style. His vocal sounds have the rhythmic and melodic flow of Jason Mraz, and many have compared him to Andy Grammer, John Mayer, and Adam Levine.
After deciding to share his first batch of songs in a live setting, Joe teamed up with Chris Halbauer, who played a unique blend of percussion featuring a cajon set up as a small drum set. What began as an acoustic duo made its way to an upbeat trio with the addition of bass player Jordan Burmeister in the fall of 2012. They recently added electric guitarist Brandon Mathieus, which has provided the group with a more full sound on both recordings and live performances.
The band has quickly gained the reputation of putting on high quality live shows, whether it be acoustically or with a full band. Their first full album, "From Love, to Loss, to Living," was released under Joe Neary in June 2013, and has been received well locally and with their online fans. In their first full year together, Joe Neary & The Middle Ground had showcases at RedGorilla Music Fest in Austin, TX, the Beloit International Film Festival, Yellow Phone Music Conference, and have begun playing for college campuses around the US. The band won the 2014 WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Award for New Artist of the Year.
The latest welcome addition to Nashville’s flourishing indie pop landscape, Andy Feller, newly performing under the moniker FOXKEEPER, hails originally from Tampa, Florida. Since settling into his new home of Music City, Feller has enlisted the help of top notch producers and performers, including Colony House drummer Will Chapman, to help craft FOXKEEPER’s inaugural release, The Beach Dream EP. With indie pop/rock melodies, thoughtful lyricism, and dreamlike atmospheres, FOXKEEPER’s style is inspirational, emotional, and powerfully moving, and definitely ranks among of our most-anticipated new local releases.
Produced & Engineered by Joshua D Niles. The Beach Dream EP is officially due out on February 23, 2017.
Cave Mode Shake
Hailing from the indie rock pocket of East Nashville, TN, Cave Mode Shake brings you their debut project: Time Traveler’s Party. With instrumental influences from bands like The Strokes, My Morning Jacket, Tame Impala, and Radiohead; CMS maintains a lively presence on stage with poppy melodies drizzled over top of slushing reverb and crunch.
“[Time Traveler’s Party] feels like stepping into a cool wave in the heat of summer and coming out dry and refreshed on the other end.”
Jamra writes all her own songs--unpolished, unapologetic, and unlike anyone else you've heard in pop
