A native of Nashville, TN, Cary first gained critical acclaim with his single “Blue Eyes” from the 2004 Grammy-winning Garden State soundtrack. His first two albums, Who You Are and Under Control premiered at the top of the iTunes Singer-Songwriter charts. Throughout his career, his music has been used on over 100 TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, and The Vampire Diaries. Cary has also performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Late Show in between tours around the globe. In the dance music world, Brothers has collaborated with Tiësto on a club remix of his song "Ride" and an original song for Tiesto's album Kaleidoscope.
Brothers just released his third studio album Bruises. “It’s about getting beaten down and getting back up again. Mostly the getting up part,” says Brothers of his new record. Leaning into his 80’s influences, Cary has crafted a collection of dreamy synth pop and soaring rock choruses meant for uplift. “I was always pegged as a singer/songwriter because I’m just one guy with a guitar, but my heroes were artists like The Cure and Peter Gabriel, who wrote in huge melodic, romantic sonic landscapes. I was tired of feeling confined to a genre, so I finally made a record that reflects the music that has always inspired me. It’s a shift from what I’ve done before, but it may also be the most honest music I’ve ever made.” The fully cinematic new album includes nine new songs including the propulsive New Wave stunner “Crush,” (as heard on ALT 98.7 and KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic”) the chill out singalong “Cool City,” and the breathtaking two-part ballad “Nothing in the World/The Path.”
Brainchild of wunderkind newcomer Amber Bollinger and rock veteran/producer Alex Dezen (The Damnwells), LA-based Broken Baby is an uncompromising rock band with post-punk edge and melodic appetites. Formed out of the ashes of failed relationships, both romantic and musical, Bollinger and Dezen wrote and recorded all the songs from their debut EP in the span of 2 weeks, honing their singular, collaborative work without pretension or extravagance. Heading back into the studio later that year to begin work on their forthcoming debut LP, the 10 tracks that emerged a few months later brought their forthright vision to new, blistering heights. Their boomy, low-fi sound soothes and scrapes in equal measure, with Bollinger’s bright, wispy vocals turning into adrenal-fueled rants with little warning. Caught somewhere between Savages, The Jesus Lizard, B-52s, and The Eurythmics, Broken Baby is a band for punching the air and driving a little too fast.
