Rockstar Payso

Rapper Rockstar Payso was born and raised in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

At the age of 9, the young rockstar began writing and recording in the kitchen of his friend's house. Through years of developing his sound and image, he honed an unmistakeable style and infectious energy. During his limited time attending college, he met his producer “Jah” and began creating his most pivotal content and performing at venues all over NYC.

In late 2017, Rockstar performed 6 sold out shows without a single song out. He dropped his first single in 2018, “1st” Produced by Take a Daytrip, and will continue to release new music throughout the year.

Donwill’s interest in DJing goes all the way back to making pause tapes as a kid in his Cincinnati, Ohio bedroom but he didn’t fully activate that interest until 2012. Before getting behind the decks he spent his time in front of them performing internationally with his group Tanya Morgan alongside the likes of The Roots, Souls of Mischief, RJD2 and a host of others. Since making his entry onto the DJ scene he has become the go to DJ for the New York comedy scene providing music for Wyatt Cenac, Micheal Che, Jessica Williams and played alongside Cipha Sounds, Young Guru, Cosmo Baker and many more. When he's not keeping dance floors packed or providing music at comedy shows you can find Donwill in the studio writing and producing new music.
