The World Famous Mad House Comedy Club Showcase Special
Up to 8 super talented comedians go onstage, back, to back, to back. You get everyone's best 10 or 15 min and if you happen to not like one comedian... you don't have to stare at them for an hour! It's like the All Star Game of Comedy and more fun than one person should be allowed to have 🙂
Paul Ogata - Comedy Central, Showtime, HBO and more!
Paul Ogata's show is an edgy, often-improvised, always-hilarious, wild ride through the corners of his mind. His quick, animated delivery of clever material led him to victory in the prestigious 32nd Annual San Francisco International Comedy Competition. Paul headlines shows around the world!
On television, you can catch Paul on the Showtime presentation of "Pacific Rim Comedy", currently airing in rotation on the cable network. Paul has also been featured on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham", the syndicated "Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen" and co-stars in the underground hit motion picture, "Porndogs" with adult-movie legends Ron Jeremy, Tera Patrick and the late Marilyn Chambers. He has also appeared in Damon Wayans' film "Behind the Smile", on CBS' "The Late Late Show" as well as on TBS, NBC and PBS.
Paul's first live CD, "Paul Ogata Stands Up, Live in Hong Kong", is available now on the brand new comedy label New Wave Dynamics, and can be downloaded at Apple's iTunes Store and other online retailers.
Matin Atrushi from Sirus XM Radio!
Matin Atrushi’s parents were political refugees from Northern Iraq, forced out by Saddam Hussein’s troops. Matin’s fascination with comedy began at an early age as the family would gather around and watch John Ritter on “Three’s Company” although the young boy’s parents barely spoke English. “Jack Tripper’s comedy was universal. My parents would laugh at his physical humor and antics,” said Matin.
Matin first tried stand-up comedy at the age of 24 in a small coffee shop in Los Angeles and has been at it ever since. He has shared the stage with comedy legends such as Robin Williams and Chris Rock. He is a comedian with a unique perspective into the everyday life of being Middle Eastern in America today.
“I’m trying to show another side of Middle Eastern people. We’re the same. We like to laugh,” said Matin. “If you ask me why I’m doing this, I really enjoy making people laugh.”
For the past 15 years I’ve performed in comedy clubs and for corporate clients across the country. I’ve appeared in all types of venues from smoke-filled bars and comedy clubs to theaters and ballrooms. The audiences have varied greatly and have included everyone from business bigwigs (and some small wigs) to The San Francisco International Comedy Competition.
I’m also host of the long-running comedy show, “West Coast Funnies.”
Besides performing, I also write for the award winning comic strip, “Dustin,” which is syndicated in over 300 newspapers nationwide.
