American Heavy Metal band from Savannah, Georgia. The band formed in 2005, when its members were all living on the same street.
Black Tusk is mostly associated with Baroness and Kylesa, for their shared hometown of Savannah, as well as for their Sludge Metal sound. The band is linked to Baroness' guitarist and vocalist John Dyer Baizley, who is also a painter and created most of Black Tusk's artwork. Black Tusk's members described their music as "Swamp Metal". The term is a reference to the climate of Savannah in relation to the music that the band created.
Bassist and vocalist Jonathan Athon passed away on 9 November 2014 from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident that happened two days earlier. In December 2014 it was announced that Corey Barhorst would take his place for the time being. In 2018 Chris 'Scary' Adams joined the band.
Founded in 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia, Whores has established themselves as one of the most successful and motivated bands in the genre today. Elements of Helmet, Melvins, and the Amphetamine Reptile roster can be heard throughout their catalog, but Whores are no regurgitated throwback act. Through intense, cathartic live performances and the perfected aggressive tenacity present on their recordings, the band has gained a fervent following sure to do nothing but grow in the years to come.
Hailing from Quebec City, Canada, Whitenails is a stoner rock band, influenced by the sounds of Pentagram, Black Sabbath and Kyuss, Whitenails adds a psychedelic touch to their debut album First Trip. Heavy riffs are not lacking on this business card which has received a very positive critical reception. Add a very seventies visual and you have a band that quickly gets a top spot on the scene.
A monolith of heavy, beautiful sounds from Youngstown, Oh.
