The Absurd, The Gooms, Mechanical Roots, The Oil Barons

The Absurd is a true power trio, firing thunderous riffs, deep grooves and earworm hooks at audiences with equal capacity. One publication has called them "Queens of the Stone Age meets Jeff Buckley" (throw in some Radiohead, Pearl Jam & Jack White and you're halfway there) while another critic has stated that The Absurd's psychedelic sound "makes me want to drop something heavy".

The Absurd has quickly ascended from nothingness into being, and is now known around Los Angeles for their electrifying live shows, constant songwriting output and relentless gigging. This has garnered them notice from publications like Buzzbands LA, Music Connection Magazine, among others, as well as slots at Echo Park Rising, LA's premier local music festival.

The Absurd is presently in studio working on their latest release, all the while storming the city with their unique and explosive live shows.

The Gooms are a Los Angeles based garage rock trio whose edgy and melodic sound derives from a die-hard love of surf, punk, jazz, and all that lies between. Their off-kilter brand of noise rock coupled with catchy hooks and dirty instrumentation make them a force to be reckoned with. They won’t apologize for stirring a ruckus in your ear canals, but they will give you a hug.

Mechanical Roots

Mechanical Roots is an Alternative Rock band comprised of Kev O’Brien and Zach Gaston. Kev is a singer/guitarist from Connecticut who has performed in New York City with several groups and toured across America. Zach is a bassist from Alabama that attended USC, and has performed with several bands and artists around LA both with and without the Trojan Marching Band. Combined, they create the sound of Mechanical Roots, a band based in Los Angeles that strives to give energetic performances and release their recordings globally while making an impact on their local music scene. Their music is influenced by Post-Rock and Alternative Rock sounds with catchy, singable hooks in both the vocals and instrumentals. Mechanical Roots finds success in writing hard-rocking music while maintaining a sound that is listenable and enjoyable for any demographic.
