Frisson is an eight piece instrumental collective formed in 2015 at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and led by composer and vibraphonist Matt DiBiase. Comprised of graduates and current students of Oberlin, the Juilliard School, the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and the Brubeck Institute, its members currently reside throughout the United States, the Bahamas and Germany. With influences ranging from jazz and hip hop to funk and electronic music, the band's live performances feature hypnotic grooves, exhilarating solos and thoughtfully crafted original compositions. The group's sound reflects many of today’s preeminent genre-crossing artists including Snarky Puppy, Hiatus Kaiyote, the Christian Scott Quintet and Moonchild. In 2017 Frisson released its debut self titled album and completed an independent tour of the West Coast, stopping at festivals and venues across California, Nevada and Utah. In 2018 they plan on releasing a second album and touring extensively both domestically and internationally.
Moshuro is a band of friends whose close bond is reflected in their music. Featuring Eli Hanley (keys/sfx), Dan Fernandez (drums/samples), Patrick Graney (Percussion), and Eli Heath (Bass/sfx) the group utilizes Hanley's compositions as launching points for intricate spontaneous creations. By blending electronics, samples, and percussive instruments from around the globe, Moshuro is carving the path for Cleveland's musical vanguard
