Part Time Punks devotes a dance nite to the sound of the New Romantic scene of the early 1980s -- a scene which was originally both a rebellion against punk and an embrace of the glam era of the early 1970s that preceded it -- but ended up producing some of the biggest names in 1980s synthpop (thanks largely to a new televisual innovation by the name of MTV (short for Music TeleVision, in case you'd forgotten). In terms of style it rejected the austerity and anti-fashion stance of punk and embraced the androgynous.  So what does that mean for the dancefloor? Expect a lot of 80s sounds by the likes of Duran Duran, Ultravox, Flock Of Seagulls, Human League, Visage, Spandau Ballet, Japan, Adam & The Ants, Culture Club, ABC, Classic Noveau, Berlin Blondes, Steve Strange, Soft Cell, Tubeway Army, Depeche Mode, Echo & The Bunnymen -- as well as the 70s sounds that inspired the movement -- ie David Bowie, T-Rex, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Brian Eno, Roxy Music etc.
