Raging Fyah

As one of Jamaica’s most phenomenal acts, Raging Fyah makes music that is bound to the much-emulated roots rock reggae tradition. The group is distinguished by an expansive vision that propels their intricate musicianship, harmonies, and musical journey.

Delroy Hamilton (Pele), Demar Gayle (Demz), and Anthony Watson (Tonidrumz) met while studying music at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts. They were under the tutelage of Ibo Cooper, former keyboardist with Third World. There they formed Raging Fyah, and it has been an everlasting journey from then on. Collectively they write their songs, conveying personal meaning while simultaneously addressing wider issues.

Their first album, “Judgement Day” was released in 2011. They then released their second album "Destiny” in 2014, which features songs such as “Nah Look Back” and “Jah Glory”, which earned comparisons to legendary reggae outfits including iconic Bob Marley and the Wailers, and Third World.

Raging Fyah is now poised for a significant impact upon America’s vast reggae landscape. Their third studio Album “Everlasting”, was released May 2016, which charted number 2 on Billboard in its' first week of release. The Album was then nominated for the 59th Grammy Awards in 2017. Everlasting was Recorded at Kingston’s legendary Tuff Gong Studios; for VP Records, produced by Llamar “Riff Raff” Brown, and distributed by Dub Rockers. The album incorporates broad-based influences, various acoustic subtleties, and a few guest artists.

Raging Fyah’s diverse expertise and experiences have merited them performances globally, including countries such as Russia, Germany, Spain, France, the UK, and New Caledonia. The band has developed a significant fan base throughout Europe where they have toured extensively as well as all throughout the US.

“There's a really creative new wave emerging in Jamaica right now there's the band called Raging Fyah that has the essence of classic reggae, but it doesn't sound like old music from 50-odd years ago” (Chris Blackwell in Rolling Stone Magazine – 04/2013)
