Funkateer Saxophonist and Jazz great Ronnie Laws, a member of the legendary musical Laws family, has received a Grammy nomination for his newest single, “Settle Down” for both Best R&B Song and Best Traditional R&B Performance. The inspiration for the title of the song, Laws explains, came from people needing to settle down first in order to face and focus Tour on what is in front of them.

Last November, Laws, with sister Eloise, and South African jazz musicians performed and participated in a two day celebration of late Jazz great John Coltrane and the documentary “Chasing Trane”. Laws and company were onboard The Blue Train, Africa’s leading luxury train. “Blue Train” is the title of Coltrane’s most successful album for the Blue Note label. Ronnie Laws recorded several successful gold albums under the Blue Note Label. He is known for breaking Billboard hits. His extremely popular songs “Friends and Strangers" and "Solid Ground" and “Every Generation” all charted on both the Jazz and Pop charts. Laws has recorded over twenty albums in his distinguished career. For more info on Saxophonist Ronnie Laws visit or
