Urban Pop/ World Music, mixed organically with spices from hasty cities with blends of flavors and sounds from the tropics.
Growing up in a multicultural family in Sweden meant that it was important for my parents that I explored my heritage. My first destination at 6 months old was Havana, Cuba. From there and any other places in the world I have come to learn the meaning of diversity, flavors, smells, history and sound. Knowledge of culture has influenced my work and my way of thinking. Life itself is fascinating and that is what portrays in my music.
Born in 1987 in Taipei City, Theo is a Vocalist, Performer & Songwriter that emerged in the
influence of Eva Cassidy and Sainkho Namtchylak. While growing up with learning
different languages, she speaks 5 languages and is professional in Multi-language singing
in Mandarin, English, Japanese, French, Portuguese, Spanish & Taiwanese. Theo grew up
with the tradition of classical & folk songs from school choir singing from elementary
school all the way to university. While young, she was passionate and started to perform
in front of all students and faculty alone in middle school.
In 2007, Theo won the 1st prize with trophy in the music contest at National Chung Cheng
University. At the same year she won the 3rd prize of a TV singing contest program
“Happy Sunday”. While studying in school, she joined several bands singing/performing
rock, pop and other genres as a leading vocalist with some repute.
Back in the days in Taiwan in 2011, Theo and her friends established the band “The Lazy Mob” singing and writing original Alternative pop rock music from modern poems. “The Lazy Mob” performed at many venues, festivals and museum in Taiwan. In year 2014 they launched their first EP independently. Unfortunately, Theo left the band due to an immoral incident happened. When life gave her lemon, she made some lemonade.
Theo pursued her dream and studied Vocal performance in 2016 at Musician Institute College of Contemporary Music in Hollywood Los Angles under the instruction of excellent professors refining expertise of different music genres like Jazz, Brazilian, R&B and Blues and graduated with outstanding student award in 2017.
Featuring some of the finest musicians in LA that cover a mix of Jazz, Bossa and Jazz fusion., Theo has been building momentum with her latest album ‘Self Portrait’ in 2018.
Theo Lee has focus and musical vision that sets her apart from her contemporaries.
