The Faceless is a technical death metal band based out of Los Angeles, California. The band consists of Michael Keene on lead guitar and vocals, Ken Sorceron on lead vocals, Justin McKinney on guitar, and Chason Westmoreland on drums.
The Faceless’ debut album, Akeldama, was released in November of 2006 and was the first release on Sumerian Records, a brand new record label at the time. They released their second album, Planetary Duality in November of 2008. Planetary Duality reached #119 on the Billboard 200. Autotheism, their third album, was released in August of 2012 and reached #50 on the Billboard 200. They will be releasing their highly anticipated fourth album in 2017, which will be titled “In Becoming a Ghost.”
Guitarist Michael Keene is known for his vast knowledge of music theory, his songwriting, and his producing skills. He has recorded and produced all of The Faceless’ albums, as well as many albums for other well-known bands.
The Faceless has a very unique, sharp sound. They often focus on mixing fast, aggressive riffs, high-speed blast beats and double bass, and heavy, death metal style vocals with tasty guitar melodies, beautiful solos, eerie clean vocals, and creatively-structured drumming. They have made a name for themselves as a critically acclaimed “musician’s band.” The music is truly composed, and nothing short of perfection. The Faceless is known for pushing musical limits and experimenting with things that other metal bands have not dared to venture into, such as saxophone solos, industrial sounds, and even a sample of a crying baby. The Faceless’ music has influenced an entire generation of bands and is unanimously adored by the metal community.
A four piece metal band reigning from the beautiful state of New Jersey.
Cited as “one of the best death metal albums to come out of the UK in the last twenty years” by Metal Hammer’s Dom Lawson, Dyscarnate’s devastating new record ‘And So It Came To Pass’ has been met with an unprecedented reaction from both international press and fans. Like the 300 Spartans, Dyscarnate show what effect a small, but elite force can have when focused on a common goal; annihilating everything that stands before them. In 2012, the band will do just that, bringing their blitzkrieg of a live show across the face of the earth; leaving smoking craters and shell-shocked audiences where stages once stood.
Following the release of the debut EP ‘Annihilate to Liberate’ in 2008, Dyscarnate were met with overwhelming feedback from national magazines, record labels and fans alike. This resulted in a multi-album deal with the UK’s Siege Of Amida Records, which provided the band with the perfect platform to release their debut full-length album 'Enduring The Massacre', which asserted them as “the best new death metal band in the UK, without question”, according to the British press.
Having toured extensively and internationally with such high profile names as Cephalic Carnage, Psycroptic, Despised Icon and The Black Dahlia Murder, the band then decided to follow up the success of their debut album, losing no time as they composed their uncompromising sophomore effort, injecting even more catchiness into their highly infectious strain of brutality. The new record which was
recorded once again at Foel Studios with Chris Fielding, and mixed and mastered in Denmark by Jacob Hansen (Aborted, Destruction, Xerath, Trigger The Bloodshed) is a far more mature, varied offering, and officially asserts Dyscarnate as luminaries of the new wave of british death metal on the worldwide extreme music scene.
Three men. One purpose. One sound.
Always outnumbered, never outgunned.
NOMVDIC’s sound wanders as much as their name suggests. With conceptual, genre-bending songwriting to thank, diversity alone makes this quartet difficult to pigeonhole. And in an era of heavy music that is saturated with monotony and pandering themes, NOMVDIC is a welcome breath of fresh air.
In a live setting, their progressive and unpredictable nature is free to flaunt its full potential. Any true performance leaves the viewer in a dense fog of curiosity, and NOMVDIC is no exception to that rule. Any heavy music fan will be able to pinpoint a favorite track on the Horror EP, which proves just as unique from song to song as the restless modern-day listener would hope.
Whether you’re thirsty for haunting intensity or sheer atmosphere, you can rest assured that NOMVDIC incorporates both ingredients in their signature cocktail of all things dark.
