Los Angeles based Dream Pop band Wild Signals was formed in 2017 by vocalists/guitarists Noël Brydebell and Nicole Ridgely, drummer Josh Renkow, and bassist Ben Keysaer. Mixing intricate layers of Post Rock with haunting melodies reminiscent of '90s Shoegaze, the result is a perpetual wave of texture and sound. The band is currently working on their debut EP, due for release Fall 2018.
The Colour Coast
The Colour Coast came together in late 2016 in Los Angeles, and consists of members with roots in Canada, Argentina, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Minnesota. Their songs inject tropical and Latin dance rhythms into wide melodies, creating a sound that pays tribute to their range of cultural backgrounds and musical influences. The end result is a unique, danceable brand of indie rock peppered with the flavours of classic disco and Cumbia, which they're calling "tropical indie rock." They've hit the ground running in 2018; releasing their first EP in January, booking shows at SXSW for March, and playing a successful month-long residency at The Satellite. The momentum around this group is gaining quickly!
NYC native, Christina Cuesta Loeb (who dropped the "Christina" for her debut solo project) comes from a family of musicians. Born to world-renown jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb and Spanish singer-songwriter/actress Carmen Cuesta, she grew up between the US and Spain, studying classical flute and bassoon. While she really enjoyed performing and playing in orchestras, Cuesta Loeb was unable to find her voice in classical music. In 2015, she moved to Los Angeles and began experimenting in her own songwriting and production.
Inspired by Green Day, The Smashing Pumpkins, Fiona Apple, and (early) Sheryl Crow, she combined her love of dark, haunting melodies with dreamy, ethereal instrumentation and vocals. She found her home somewhere in the world of Dream Pop, with a blend of everything from acoustic ukuleles to Shoegaze-heavy guitars. From this, she joined forces with LA based guitarist/producer, Blake Straus, to co-produced and record her debut album, Dive, to be independently released this summer 2018. Christina joined forces with her sister, Lizzy Loeb (LA based singer-songwriter) in 2017 for the live Cuesta Loeb shows. Lizzy Loeb is featured on guitar, vocal dreamy textures and harmonies.
