Jedi Mind Tricks

For more than twenty-two years, the name Jedi Mind Tricks has become synonymous with raw, gritty independent hip-hop. From their debut album, The Psycho-social, in 1996 to their seminal sophomore release, Violent By Design, to their musical expansion on Servants and Heaven, Kings in Hell, JMT has made an indelible impression on the independent music scene while arguably forging its own subgenre of rap. Led by the fiery vocals of controversial frontman, Vinnie Paz (who has also built an auspicious solo career over the last decade), and the enigmatic producer, Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind, the group has sustained a successful career as a result of its consistently, uncompromising rap music.

On June 22nd, the duo drops their ninth studio album, The Bridge and The Abyss, featuring the singles/videos for “San La Muerte” and “Marciano’s Reign.” Speaking on the new album, Vinnie Paz, says, “Each time out we face a challenge of not wanting to make the same record, but at the same time doing what we do, which is make hardbody rap. I try to balance my ignorant raps with songs that are a little more conceptual and personal. I think we found a nice balance on this album.”

JMT’s success can’t be measured in chart positions or platinum plaque counts. Their success is most accurately measured in the passion and respect of their growing legions of hardcore fans who have packed JMT shows around the world from Boston to Bogota to Bucharest. Paz says, “When you see someone with a tattoo of your logo or your album art on their body, that’s a level of dedication that a sales chart can’t possibly capture. We’re blessed to have some of the most dedicated fans in music. We’ve always sort of been music industry pariahs and I think our fans like that we don’t cower to the politics of the business.” JMT’s music embodies the spirit of DIY defiance and their longevity is a testament to their blue-collar work ethic coursing through the bloodlines of their hometown of Philadelphia.

Jedi Mind Tricks “The Bridge and The Abyss” out June 22, 2018.

Q is best known for the work he has done with the Brooklyn based crew The Arsonists, who since their inception in 1995 have gone on to release numerous singles and 2 critically acclaimed albums. As a member of the world famous Rock Steady Crew, Q has appeared alongside other members in videos such as The Roots "Clones" and Def Squad's "Rappers Delight" remake. Q's charm has also landed him in various advertising campaigns for the likes of Coca-Cola and Armani. In 2002, Q was selected to rap/host for MTV's 2002 Video Music Awards NYC Street Campaign. Aside from putting out records, most recently Q-Unique initiated and received a Proclamation from the Mayor of NYC to declare July 26, 2003 "Rock Steady Crew Day".

When the Arsonists dismantled, Q had to decide what his next venture would be. Long time friend Ill Bill of Non Phixion and CEO of Uncle Howie Records helped Q-Unique move into the spotlight as an individual artist. Finally the world got the chance to hear the real Q-Unique, exposing the demons of his past and his triumphs over them, with the release of Q's highly anticipated solo debut album "Vengeance Is Mine”, resulting in another Q-Unique masterpiece. The word play, the details, the passion behind every word all along with the production he brings, grabs you from the instant it hits your eardrums, he goes above and beyond the normal "rap music" standard.

The solo venture has given Q new opportunities to feature with other artists, like Pitbull on the new Tony Touch album “Reggaetony”, to working with Fieldy, member of the multi platinum group Korn on Q-Unique’s new album, which is yet to be released. He has also recently produced for Raekwon, Ill Bill and for the La Coka Nostra project which features House Of Pain. For the fans, he is going to drop some mix cd’s while they wait for the release of the new album. In between all of this, Q is constantly on the road touring all over from Europe to North and South America showing love to his loyal fans, while awing people who have never seen him on stage before, further expanding the Q-Unique fan base. Q-Unique will continue to captivate us with his words on his way to the top, and he won’t take no for an answer.

Also singer for Korn's bassist Fieldy side-project "Stillwell (2)" (previously working together with Fieldy as "Capital Q"). Released the album "Dirtbag" in 2011.
