Fusing their backgrounds in music technology, classical, and jazz music, Mint Trip came together over a mutual interest in pushing the boundaries of pop music. The result is a unique combination of catchy rhythms, vibrant textures, and captivating melodies.
Handsome Karnivore consists of Franco Zizza, José Gómez, Raymond Velez and Tiago Valerio. Originally a trio formed in 2012, a year later they released their first album, Characteristics of Instrumental Silence. With the addition of José in 2014, the band decided to move to Los Angeles to stretch the bands exposure from coast-to-coast. Handsome Karnivore started working on their new album at Foreword Productions (FWDPRO) and have played a plethora of shows on Sunset Boulevard at the Whisky a Go Go and the Viper Room. Earlier this year, Handsome Karnivore released their second studio album, The Chaotic Static Between Shadow and Substance.
YYNOT was the coming together of award winning-Grammy ballot nominated Guitarist/Songwriter/Producer Billy Alexander (John Waite, FEEL, Ron Blair-Tom Petty) and Florida based virtuoso bassist Tim Starace. After seeing Bassist Tim Starace post videos of his mind-blowing and accurate Rush bass covers, Alexander approached Starace
about forming an online collaboration by creating videos of Rush
classics. The videos have grown in popularity and have gained hundreds of thousands of views. Their original videos gaining over 2million views overall on facebook and YouTube. They’ve played to standing room only shows at The Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood, Gaslamp in Long Beach and others.
Alexander recruited then 19 year old Rocky Kuner after seeing her perform a jaw-dropping version of Deep Purple’s “Highway Star” while she was still in highschool!
Drummer Joel Stevenett came into the fold when a member of a Rush online group suggested he and the band work together. After seeing the world -class drummer perform a Rush drum medley on YouTube it was obvious this was a perfect match!
‘YYNOT’ pride themselves on perfectly accurate representations of the Rush catalog as well as a penchant for releasing “Rush-esque” original material that stands up against some of the strongest progressive/hard rock music out there.Their originals have already garnered national airplay as well as in Canada. Their last show in March 18th at the EauGallie Civic Center in Melbourne Fla. was sold out!
YYNOT’s live shows are designed to take the fans on a journey back in time as well as deliver a fresh new spark and bring back the power and majesty of hard rock that the fans have an undeniable hunger for.
Based out of Los Angeles, Garrett Hazen has, according to Surviving the Golden Age, bridged the gap between indie rock and tweed pop. And he, "...is reminiscent of bands like Los Campesinos or The New Pornographers."
Garrett Hazen grew up with eclectic taste for the sounds of rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Arcade Fire, Bob Dylan, Radiohead, while also drawing inspiration from jazz musicians such as the great, Wes Montgomery.
At the age of 10, Garrett picked up the guitar, and immediately became obsessed. By 17, Garrett was forming his own bands, as well as appearing on stage with jazz artists such as Gordon Goodwin, Don Menza, and Tom Kubis.
Garrett’s first sessions for his solo work began in the summer of 2016, with producer Spencer Riley. As a songwriter, Garrett has contributed to Spencer Riley's Spoon Fed EP, Monako Davis' All Your Heaven, And Your Hurt, and is featured on the upcoming release for The TVC's new EP, A West Coast Vision. Garrett's second release, Gold (EP), was recorded in Skid Row at Sun Rooms Studios. Featuring a blend of indie-rock, experimental sounds, and rhythms and grooves reminiscent of the late 70's, Gold packs in a lot of attitude in a 3 song EP.
