Ken Reid T.V. Guidance Counselor Podcast

Ken Reid is a Boston based stand up comedian, podcaster, former punk rock teen (he was in the little loved 90's Boston Punk band 30 Seconds Over Tokyo) and adult survivor of a latchkey childhood. Reid was the long standing Friday night host at the legendary Comedy Studio in Cambridge, MA and produced his chaotic comedy variety show The Secret Menu there for two years. Reid was twice nominated as Best Comedian in Boston by the defunct Boston Phoenix and named one of Boston's best comics by CBS Boston. He's performed at national comedy festivals including the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, The Riot LA Festival, The Eugene Mirman Festival and worked with acts like Bob Saget, Todd Barry and John Oliver. He has appeared on NPR and is a frequent podcast guest having appeared on You're The Expert, Judge John Hodgman, Doug Loves Movies, Risk! and the Dana Gould Hour. He's also the host and creator of the popular TV Guidance Counselor Podcast.

Each week Ken and his guest discuss the difficult viewing choices of our collective past using issues from Ken's extensive TV Guide Magazine archives. Stories of growing up, nostalgic memories of television, and occasional forays into academic discussions on media are known to appear on the show. Since the show's debut in February 2014 Ken has welcomed over 200 diverse guests including Bonnie Hunt, Ted Danson, Cassandra "Elvira Mistress of the Dark" Peterson, John Hodgman, Dana Gould, Kumail Nanjiani, Greg Proops, Ann Magnuson, Tick creator Ben Edlund, Lisa Loeb, Janeane Garofalo, Olivia d'Abo, Eugene Mirman and many more. The show has been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, and the Boston Globe.
