Tennessee Muscle Candy

Led by Alexis Saski, Tennessee Muscle Candy is the newest addition to Nashville's rock and roll scene. The band's first single "Walk That Walk", produced and co-written by Reno Bo and out on Electric Western Records, is a catchy three-minute jolt of psychedelic garage pop. With a theremin solo! Saski's powerful, soulful, and feminine vocal leads the charge and cuts through the guitars, organs and drums with defiant power.

Saski, Matt Prince and Andy Prince arrived in Nashville poor, unemployed kids. To keep the heat on in their rehearsal space / sleeping quarters, they decided to try their hand at busking on lower Broadway - Nashville's equivalent of Time Square where the bright lights, honky tonks, souvenir shops and cheap beer lure in thousands of tourists a day. Setting up shop on a street corner, the trio earned a full month's rent in one night, as large crowds gathered to hear their powerful garage rock versions of Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin and other rock standards. So, they kept doing it. A lot. The cops would shut them down when the crowds got too big and spilled off the sidewalks into the streets. But the band kept showing up night after night. This led to invitations to play at various bars and venues as a cover band that performed no country songs - something nearly unheard of in Nashville. Saski eventually began writing songs of her own, which led to the recording of the debut single on Electric Western. A full length album is in the works for 2016. TMC was just having a little good old fashioned rock and roll fun and hadn't considered themselves a "real band." Until now.
