Soon after the four matched on an online dating site due to their shared interest in fast cars and centaurs, they fell in love and soon realized their destiny; to merge their love for lucky charms and bob Dylan in order to create a new kind of noise they would later coin as brofi. In 2016, the Philadelphia natives recorded their debut album at the Headroom with Kyle Pulley. In an interview after their coachella tri-mega headlining ritual, these ambitious young fries said they hope to take control of the fast food industry once they grow tired of touring the galaxy’s outer rim. They will release their new EP "Notes" on July 20th 2018.
Serena Scalzi, rhythm/lead/vox of Americanadian, began to write her own dreamy type music under the moniker Americanadian back in 2015. She would release her originals through Bandcamp and nothing else to it. Later, Serena wanted to hear her music in a full-fledged band. She gathered up some friends she's known for a while and ones that she has just met. Nina Fuchs, drummer of Americanadian has known Serena since back in 2014. Serena knew Nina would be a perfect fit for this band since they've known each other long enough. Once they played together they wanted to get more people in on this fantastic music making. Jeff Weingarten, rhythm/lead/vox of Americanadian joined, Michael Algarra, bassist of Americanadian and Abby Woodcock, keys of Americanadian. Fully becoming a band in 2017, Americanadian continues their journey till this day.
Sterling Duns (Hardwork Movement) & Aqeel Aadam and Friends
Aqeel Aadam is a hip-hop producer and vocalist that splits time between New York and Philadelphia. He recently graduated with a BA in Computer Science at Princeton University and now works as a software engineer for Google in New York. Aqeel began his musical journey playing guitar, bass, and drums in rock and jazz bands before settling into hip-hop production, and released his debut solo album in February 2018. As a producer, Aqeel is inspired by modern musical trends and strives to blur the worlds of modern hip-hop, industrial music, analog and digital hardware synthesis, ambient soundscapes, and more. As a lyricist, he is inspired by self-reflection, self-improvement, and breaking monotony.
Sterling Duns is a West Philly based hip-hop artist, musician, educator, organizer, and Quaker. Sterling has performed throughout the world solo and with numerous groups, and is one of the founding members of Philly's own Hardwork Movement and the musical duo City Love, and has shared the stage with many different musical acts such as Talib Kweli, Redman and Method Man, GZA, Rhiannon Giddens, The Districts, and many more. His passion for music stems from his desire to make sense of the events that make our lives unique and intertwined, all at once.
