Poro, meaning “good friend” in Pidgin (Tok Pisin), is a musical project based out of Cleveland, Ohio consisting of members Mark Porostosky (present multi-instrumentalist in The Lighthouse and the Whaler), Ryan Walker (fellow TLATW member), and Susan Ulle. Together the band creates an eclectic Indie Pop sound drawing influences from the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Phoenix and Copeland, with a sincere melodic flair all their own.

In 2016, after six years of writing and touring with TLATW, Mark began creating Poro with material and concepts he had been writing on his own. In early 2017 Treat Yourself was released with the support of former drummer Thomas Ulle and fellow TLATW member Ryan Walker. The lyrically themed self-confidence EP was later named one of the “15 Best Cleveland Album and EP releases of the year” (Cleveland.com). The success of Treat Yourself continued in 2018 as “Embrace,” the album’s most orchestral and anthemic song, was used in the 42nd Cleveland International Film Festival’s trailer; for which Poro also performed at the festival’s closing ceremony.

Moving forward from Poro’s promising debut EP, the band continues to perform shows around the schedule of their brother band, TLATW, and has a new album titled Eyes out now.

Punch Drunk Tagalongs

Cleveland Indie Rock band best known for our crunchy drums layered with decadent melodies and covered in overdriven guitars with a nougaty bass center.

Layering traditional folk instruments over a rock band rhythm section, Shiloh Hill brings a smooth and infectious energy to the scene. The dance-worthy grooves mingle with hometown mandolin, turning the stage into a front porch, where front man Nick Hofstetter and his wife Mamie weave stories in harmony. Their winsome, family-band style ensures great fun and even better friends.

Shiloh Hill is a band that not only understands their roots but also understands how to create a sound that's continuously evolving and fully unique. This is a project that focuses on a joint contribution of artists showcasing not only excellent songwriting and lyricism, but a simple yet beautiful ensemble of harmonizing vocals, guitar, mandolin and percussion. With just the right mix of folk, pop, and fireside feeling, each song sets tones, tells stories, and has a little something for everyone.

"Wildflower" is the title of their album released in August 2016, which finds its breezy folk-pop ditties splashed with colorful accents of brass and glockenspiel.
