DOWN AND OUTLAWS
Rock and roll isn't a sound. It's not an attitude. It's a need, it's a fight, it's the saving grace in the wake of a broken heart or something lost.
Culminating a breakout year of playing alongside established artists such as Reignwolf, The Silent Comedy, Cancer Bats and Spindrift, Down and Outlaws recorded their debut LP, Above Snakes, in December of 2014. The album is slated for release this year. In 2015 already, they've had a spotlight on Last Call with Carson Daly and released the first single 'Lay Me Down' from the upcoming LP.
If you ask what Down and Outlaws sound like, some may mention The Stooges or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. But at some level, such comparisons miss the point. Call these San Franciscans dirty, bluesy, rootsy; it doesn't really matter. Down and Outlaws are a rock band, pure and simple.
These days, when the definition of rock and roll is increasingly uncertain, the quartet's energy, authenticity, and blistering live performances are impossible to ignore or forget.
Down and Outlaws play because they’ve got no choice. Music has saved the D&O, and they hope to return the favor.
Cave Clove (single release party!)
Cave Clove is a psych folk pop quartet with roots in Americana, jazz and rock&roll. A wash of soul and tight orchestration create the Cave Clove mood, which alternates between a folk rock sound and bohemian jazz aesthetic filled with smoky vocals and atmospheric rhythms. With overtones of pop and R&B, Cave Clove takes niche genres and integrates them into the band’s signature sultry tension, with big sound closing in around Americana-influenced melodies.
Following 2013 EP Bases of Pyramids, Cave Clove’s full length is due out spring of 2015, full of psychedelic folk feel and lyrics that reflect the band’s grounded whimsy. Cave Clove has earned accolades from the East Bay Express and Bay Bridged since starting in 2013, and the quartet has been called a unique and stellar addition to the evolving genre of Americana (East Bay Express).
Their latest single, “Kyrie” was just released in October 2014, Cave Clove’s full length is due out spring of 2015, full of psychedelic folk feel and lyrics that reflect the band’s grounded whimsy.
