Swift Technique, Kuf Knotz, The Bailen Brothers

Swift Technique

While Swift Technique draws from all world influences, their genre is uniquely Philadelphia. The idea of combining traditional jazz and funk with hip-hop seems almost too obvious, but artists are not pushing the boundaries. The music scene needs sincere, soulful performers that audiences of all age, race and background can enjoy collectively. By combining old influences with young, raw energy, Swift Technique is the collaboration of six souls on a mission to flip the music scene upside down.

"Kufie" has been making a name for himself as a member of some of Philly's most cutting-edge alternative rap crews; first as a founding member of the BurnDown All-Stars, and more recently, his own group, hip-hop/soul collective The Hustle. Knotz, a.k.a. Ty Green, is now making his solo career top priority, and with Boombox Logic, he's created a diverse, far-reaching collection that underscores the rapper's eclectic tastes.

The Bailen Brothers

Songwriting twin duo David and Daniel Bailen have been playing music and writing songs ever since the womb, in fact, they came out singing in perfect harmony! The two grew up singing in the Metropolitan Opera Children's Chorus, where both were featured soloists. In 2007, the two went into the studio and recorded their first album as The Bailen Brothers Band, "Come and Get Your Art." The band made their national television debut when they were featured on Nickelodeon throughout that summer.

The members of the band emanate from NYU and Juilliard and have been playing on the New York Club scene since 2007, with short college tours in the Northeast and California. In 2010, the band moved to Florence, Italy, where they had a weekly residency at two clubs in the city center. They also performed at other venues around Italy including the Blue Note in Milan, and The Pinocchio Club.

On their return to New York, the band kept the weekly residency going by hosting Thursday Throwdowns @ the Local 269. Since being back, the Bailen Brothers have played on the Vh1 Save the Music Summer Concert Series, Harlem Jazz Museum's Annual July 4th Concert in the Park, and the CMJ Music Marathon. They have also played residencies at the Bowery Poetry Club, Bitter End, Sullivan Hall and The Studio @ Webster Hall.
