Los Enanitos Verdes (Little Green Men) is a successful music group from Argentina. Started in the province of Mendoza, the group has achieved wide-spread fame across Latin America. In 1990, they separated, but in 1992, band members Marciano Cantero (lead singer), Daniel Piccolo (drummer) and Felipe Staiti (guitar), decided to make a comeback. During 2003, they went on tour with Alejandra Guzman. They have, among other things, earned a Gaviota de Plata (Silver Gull) at the Festival de Viña del Mar in Chile. For a little while, in 1984, they had Sergio Embrioni perform as a guest musician. Their cover of Los Bukis' hit "Tu Carcel" became a popular hit in the U.S.
Este Vato is an original eight-piece Latin-Fusion group from Austin, TX. Brothers Rocky and Oscar Reyna formed the group in early-2008, but it wasn't until late-2008 that the final line-up came together and began performing. EV includes: Rocky Reyna, Oscar Reyna, Ricardo Lara, Feliciano 'Chano' Lopez, Rey Treviño, Frank 'FAAR' Ramirez, Roy Pulido and David Martinez.
EV's sound can be described as a blending of English and Spanish lyrics with many styles from Cumbia to Rock to Hip-Hop to Reggae and everything in between. Max Dropout (Talent Buyer at Beerland) says "…Este Vato is an excellent combination of Latin Rock, Hip-Hop, Cumbia and Reggae with electronic samples and inspirational lyrics…" EV calls this sound "Latin-Fusion" and credits it's members vast musical tastes, experiences and contributions as the key to it's original sound.
EV's rhythm section Rocky Reyna, Oscar Reyna & Frank 'FAAR' Ramirez come from families with tremendous musical backgrounds which provide the solid foundation that EV's sound is built on. Feliciano 'Chano' Lopez contributes his ability to combine English and Spanish lyrics with an arsenal of intricate rhymes that define his political views and life struggles, while Rey Trevino adds turntables, electronic samples and sound effects to the mix. Ricardo Lara brings his talent and experience as a Singer / Songwriter to EV's lineup by showcasing his eclectic style and powerful voice, while EV's newest members Roy Pulido and David Martinez top everything off nicely with their home-grown California brass sound.
