The Jersey Boomers
The Jersey Boomers are Stan Sheckman, Jeff Meyers, Bill Begley and Steve Galanter, four musicians, singers and performers from the Delaware Valley who share a love of American folk music. In the summer of 2010, Stan, Jeff and Bill joined others from three continents to perform at the annual Kingston Trio Fantasy Camp in Scottsdale, Arizona. Original Trio member, Bob Shane, now leads the camp that was founded by the late John Stewart, former member of the Trio.
The Jersey Boomers recorded their first CD, Goin' Home, in 2011 and are currently completing their second recording of folk and contemporary songs.
Goin' Home features ten songs that Kingston Trio fans will instantly recognize. Each was inspired by the style and arrangements on the original recordings One song, 'The Secret', was written and performed by Bill Begley!
The Jersey Boomers were gifted with the extraordinary contributions of Paul Gabrielson, bassist on Goin' Home. Paul is the bass player for the present Kingston Trio.
