A Silent Film have established themselves as one of the most exciting live acts in the UK today. Following on from gigs with artists as diverse as Mystery Jets, Metronomy, Athlete and Glasvegas they are about to embark on their first headline tour of the UK in support of their debut album 'The City that Sleeps'. Their sound combines the elegance of well-structured songwriting and an attention to textural detail with a love of contemporary genres ranging from dance and electronica to rock and pop.
'this is a confident debut album full of epic structures and ethereal vocals from surefire stars of the future' - The Fly
"Gently weaving intricately constructed tales, this DIY piano-led quartet from Oxford produce larger than life cinematic soundscapes, rolling from trance-like distortion to superbly focused piano and electric guitar hooks." - Rock Sound
"Modern Indie psychedelia, cloud-reaching melodies and the subtle racing energy that glides straight into your subconscious effortlessly..." - Subba-cultcha.com
Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun is about the collaborative. It's about the connections between sound and people. It's about the heart and the head. It's for mistakes and triumphs, and against arrogance and under confidence. Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun is about sharing the ideas that are created by four friends in Atlanta, Georgia. It's all for sharing much further than there, penniless or plentiful.
