Saturday, September 22nd Will Eastman's monthly house and indie dance party BLISS celebrates its 12-year anniversary with a six-hour DJ set from Eastman spinning his favorite tracks of the past 12 years, starting at 10:00 p.m. Started by Eastman in September 2000, Bliss began as a small indie pop/punk/electropop dance party held at the now-defunct Metro Cafe, and has since grown into one of the most successful, longest-standing monthly parties on the east coast; moving to the Black Cat Backstage for a lengthy run before expanding to U Street Music Hall last year. With a focus on forward-looking dance music, Bliss has been a prominent musical trendsetter, helping spawn an indie dance culture/movement and hosting such artists as Danny Daze, Miami Horror, MSTRKRFT, Treasure Fingers, Holy Ghost! and Cut Copy, all before their point of major breakthrough. The first 20 patrons at the door will receive a free Bliss t-shirt and sticker!
