Christopher Alan Yates

Born and raised in the south metro-Atlanta area, Christopher Alan Yates’ musical roots began at the feet of his father, Doyle “Red” Yates, a country guitarist and bluegrass bassist. Playing neighborhood parties, fish fries, and barbeques with his dad, Yates’ talent grew quickly. His easy, catchy rhythms borrow from and blend the eclectic genres he loves. Songs on albums Familiar Fire, Mint Condition and Red vary from country to pop to pure rock thus appealing to a wide audience.

A regular on the Atlanta music scene, Yates’ devoted fans have followed as he has morphed into a collaborative soloist who writes and performs both alone and with friends and writer’s groups.
In addition to being on stage, Yates is also an accomplished studio engineer. A desire to understand all elements of music production and a need to control the quality of his work led him to an impressive resume behind the boards. He feels blessed to have learned from each artist he has worked with.

With his latest collaboration, Ed Roland & The Sweet Tea Project, the horizon has a new dawn. Yates cofounded The Sweet Tea Project in 2011with Ed Roland, best known as the frontman of the rock band Collective Soul. This group made its debut via a cover of "Shelter from the Storm" on the 2012 Bob Dylan tribute, Chimes of Freedom which debuted in the U.S at number 11 on the Billboard 200. The Sweet Tea Project released their debut album, Devils 'N Darlins, in September of 2013. Their latest work, “Alder Lane Farm” is scheduled for release later this year. When not writing or performing with The Sweet Tea Project, you can find Yates performing at local spots around the Atlanta area.

From his childhood music has been the defining element in the life of Christopher Alan Yates, and he constantly strives to reinvent himself and his music.

Ian Calk

Ian Calk is the front man for pop rock duo Brighter Light with his brother Gareth.
Born and raised in small-town South Carolina, the two were brought up writing, playing,
and singing music together. In their early adult years, both left their stomping grounds to
serve as missionaries for two years, Ian in Alaska and Gareth in Brazil. There they had
countless experiences that would shape them personally as well as musically in ways
they could have never anticipated. Upon coming back to South Carolina and finishing
up college, they decided it was time to pursue music more seriously. From there,
Brighter Light was created. This family duo provides an enticing blend of power pop
combined with the edgy influence of rock and blues. As an up-and- coming group
working on their debut album, their emotionally driven alternative sound and versatility
makes them one to watch out for. With lyrics and melodies rich with feeling, these
brothers provide sounds and songs accessible to any ear that’s ready to listen.
