Silk Mother dishes out a delectable juicy sound that is both sappy and fierce. Their sound takes you on a rollercoaster of satisfaction - from droning dreamy delight to driving rock and roll that your dancing bones just won’t resist. Formed just last year,
Silk Mother is comprised of several of the Bay Area’s most talented musicians. Hailing from schools such as California Institute of the Arts, Mills College, and Berkeley School of Jazz, each member brings some serious talent and groove to this new team of shredders.
Hailing from Western Massachusetts, Ian brings New England sensitivity to the Bay Area with driving guitar, poignant lyrics, and a musical sensibility honed by over a decade of performance. Born from the campfire and the conservatory, Ian delivers a nuanced and invigorating show whether he's in a concert hall or your living room. Supported by Matthew Travers, Ian will wrap you in song and leave you wandering in his storytelling.
The songs of Douglas Allen are soulful, raw, and sweet. Born the son of a farmer, this ex-baptist preacher uses his guitar as his conduit of emotion. Heavily influenced by early Soul and Folk Music, his music has a unique mix of a skilled songwriter and a voice that exudes passion. Coming on the Bay Area Music Scene in 2012 as part of the folk/blues band Blood & Dust, Douglas Allen continues to put heart into music
Brian (Roko) is a folk singer/songwriter from South Hadley, Massachusetts. He has been living in the Bay Area for 6 years and recently began playing solo shows. He's played at The Lost Church, The Stork Club, The Bistro, Bazaar Cafe, Donkey & Goat Winery and 21st Amendment Brewery, among a number of open mics. Brian is looking to release his first EP, Atwood Road, in late 2017. You can find him across social media platforms under @brianroko as well as the "In Looking Out" demo tapes on YouTube under Brian Roko.
