Mail the Horse

Mail the Horse

Mail the Horse found their start in coastal New Hampshire but moved their straight rocking sound to Brooklyn a couple years ago where it could drink too much, work too much, fall asleep on the subway, get picked up by a prostitute and learn how to have a sense of humor about how sometimes life sucks all the time. Their new home and the sound that came with it are finding it's physical manifestation in the form of a 12” LP called “Great Kills,” due out this September on the Western Mass based TinyRadars label.

“Great Kills” plays like a collection of love songs to the failure of love; there is little love on this record, but plenty of proof it exists. Sonically the band has one foot strongly grounded in the tradition of master craftsmen like Bob and Bruce but clearly this is a band that understands that great rock music is always changing. What comes out wears something like the jeans your mom used to buy for you, somewhere between a working man's boot-cut and the slim fitting tapers of MTH's Brooklyn neighbors. “Great Kills” is sturdy, reliable rock and roll that still demands you to listen to better music than your parents did.

Rosco Bandana

Rosco Bandana is a Gulfport based band whose act includes blues/americana style music blended with modern folk and a hint of gypsy fanfare. The band formed recently and has been shaking up the local music scene with their energetic live performances.
