Vahe Sarkissian, Marian Call

Vahe Sarkissian

Vahe Sarkissian, winner of 93.3 WMMR's lead guitarist position in Jaxon's Building the Band, is a Philadelphia-based guitarist who has made a reputation for his progressive and modern approach to the electric guitar. While studying for his Master's at The University of the Arts, he began experimenting with a style of playing guitar involving 2 handed tapping, such as a Chapman Stick would be played. He is also the recipient of the Fender Outstanding Guitarist Award.

Some of his performance accomplishments include opening for Slash, The Roots, Shinedown, Halestorm, Godsmack, Steel Panther, Foxy Shazam, Andy McKee, Joe Stump, and more.

Vahe has also had the opportunity to be mentioned in several publications. His press includes a feature in Guitar World magazine, Progression Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philly Weekly, and The Metro.

Vahe has performed at various venues which include The Susquehanna Bank Center, The Electric Factory, Tower Theater, Trocadero, TLA, and the World Cafe Live. In addition to solo performances he plays with groups such as The Endless March and Field of Play. Currently, The Endless March's new single "Beyond Our Reaches" can be heard on 93.3 WMMR (Philadelphia).
