BLUES FOR POPS with DURAND JONES & THE INDICATIONS

BLUES FOR POPS

Blues for Pops is an annual benefit concert celebrating life, love, and music for all of us who have lost a loved one or been affected by cancer. All profit from ticket sales are donated to the American Cancer Society and will go towards cancer research, patient services, early detection, treatment, and education.

Blues for Pops is an original jam written and performed by Jeffrey S. Walker, a skilled guitarist, music aficionado, and tech industry titan who lost his five year battle to cancer in 2009. His children keep him alive by celebrating his passions - loud music and stiff martinis.

DURAND JONES & THE INDICATIONS

Bayou-born soul sensation, Durand Jones got his start in the church, after being forced to sing in the choir of his rural hometown Hillaryville, Louisiana because his Grandmother thought he sang too much at home. When his music career took him to Bloomington, Indiana, he was selected to join the legendary Indiana University Soul Revue, and it was through his involvement that he met writer/producer duo Aaron Frazer and Blake Rhein. The three began writing original soul music, recording themselves straight to tape in the basements of Bloomington - and their debut album is now available on our record label, Colemine Records.

The Grease Traps

The Grease Traps are a dynamite funk outfit based in Oakland, CA. Featuring tight horns and stirring vocals from that sharp-dressing, all-around fly dude, The Gata, their musical mix of hard-driving funk and lowdown soul is guaranteed to get your head noddin' and cure your dance jones. They recently celebrated their 12-year anniversary and have released a 45 single on the well-respected funk/soul label, Colemine Records, with a full LP in the works.
