Roosevelt Collier Plays The Grateful Dead
Roosevelt Collier decided it was "High Time" to get some musicians together and pay tribute to the Grateful Dead.
Soft-spoken by nature, south Florida-bred Roosevelt Collier does his hollering on the steel guitar. Seated front and center, the "sacred steel" frontman with the Lee Boys leaves an indelible mark on listeners, flooring audiences with his lightning-fast slide work. A regular "Artist at Large" at festivals, the sit-in virtuoso has built a reputation for collaborating with some of the industry's most respected artists of all genres, from the Allman Brothers and Umphrey McGee, Del McCoury Band and Dumpstaphunk.
2011-2013 collaborations include: Allman Brothers, ALO, Anders Osborne, Bobby Lee Rodgers, Break Science, Col. Bruce Hampton, Dead Kenny G's, Del McCoury Band, Dumpstaphunk, Elvin Bishop, Funky Meters w/Bernie Worrell of Parliament Funkadelic, Galactic, George Porter Jr. & the Runnin' Pardners, Gov't Mule, Greensky Bluegrass, Heavy Pets, Hot Buttered Rum, Ike Stubblefield, JJ Grey & Mofro, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Leftover Salmon, Lettuce, Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, Michael Franti & Spearhad, Moe., New Mastersounds, North Mississippi Allstars, Papadosio, Perpetual Groove, Railroad Earth, Shameka Copeland, Soulive, Tab Benoit, Tea Leaf Green, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Toubab Krewe, Warren Haynes Band, Wood Brothers, Yonder Mountain String Band, Zach Deputy.
