Michael Hicks is an unique blend of talent and humility which is rarely found in today’s emerging talent. As an artist, writer, and performer, Mike is revered as one of the best in the diverse Funk and Soul music scene in Nashville and beyond. His Freshman album, This Is Life, highlights the talents of his writing ability, the moral message of his music, and the production talents of both himself and James Waddell. The album is brought to life by his incredible (18 pieces at it’s fullest) funk group, Mike Hicks and the Funk Puncs. This Is Life garnered him 4 Nashville Independent Music Awards nominations the year of its release, 3 of which he won. When he’s not writing and performing his own original music, Hicks has been a session and touring musician, working, recording for or traveling and performing with the likes of Keb Mo, Pharell Williams, Jonny Lang, Little Big Town, Zac Brown, Taj Mahal, and more. International touring has lent him years of maturity that most young artists never get to experience. This interesting blend of influences and experiences have made himDzthedz artist to watch in Nashville. Other things of note: Graduate of MTSU’s RIM program (spring 2005) Currently working on a follow up album to This Is Life. Musical director for SpreadLuv615’s series of tribute shows that raise money for the creative community and charities in town. Jess Nolan, a New Jersey native labeled as an old soul, has been compared to strong female songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Carole King.
She currently resides in Nashville where she shares her stories through her original soul-influenced pop music. Since moving to Tennessee a little over a year ago, Jess's career has been gaining quick momentum. She has performed all over town at renowned venues like The Bluebird Cafe, 3rd & Lindsley, Exit/In, and Mercy Lounge. Jess was a finalist for Lightning 100 and BMI's 2016 Road To Roo competition and the grand prize winner for their 2016 Music City Big Break competition.
Jess is a graduate from the Bruce Hornsby Creative American Music program at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. She competed and placed in four Festival Miami Songwriter's Showcases and won first place for her song, "Burn", in 2014 earning her a slot opening for Jorma Kaukonen, founding member of Jefferson Airplane.
