The Fabulous Dialtones Acoustic Party

The Fabulous Dialtones

The Fabulous Dialtones are really two bands in one: a 10-member classic rock with horns band that cranks out covers of the great classic rock tunes of a super era of music (plus a few originals, too), AND a softer, kinder, gentler 7-person group that focuses on the great acoustic songs of the same period. This group, minus 4 horns plus a former bass player on pedal steel, brings back memories of the great age of acoustic, singer-songwriter days of CSNY, early Beatles, America, Eagles, James Taylor, John Mellencamp and so many more. We also give a nod to today’s classic artists and throw in a few of our own acoustic originals, delivered with the signature FDT harmonies. But don’t be surprised if your foot tapping turns into dancing when we kick it up for a fun evening of great music.

Marshall Artz

Marshall Artz is an acoustic guitar duo from Virginia currently performing and recording in the Washington D. C. area. The duo features the combined talents of Brad Marshall on lead, rhythm, and slide guitar and Kevin Artz on rhythm and fingerstyle guitar, vocals and harmonica. Brad’s background in rock and blues meets with Kevin’s background in folk, folk-rock and bluegrass to create an original and dynamic acoustic sound. Their performances blend two guitars into a rhythmic and melodic mix that suggests a full band rather than just two guitars. Their repertoire of original songs and cover tunes ranges from mellow ballads to driving rock, suggesting the influences of the Beatles, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, and Tony Rice.

Kevin and Brad have performed at colleges and universities in Virginia, Washington D. C. and Maryland. They have been guests on live radio programs and featured in live performances for American University’s WAMU as well as the World Folk Music Association showcases at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia. They have performed as opening act for national artists Tracy Chapman and Dave Mason at venues such as the Ram’s Head Tavern in Annapolis, Maryland and were featured Time Line artists at the Strathmore. Marshall Artz recently received a Washington Area Music Association Wammie nomination for their latest CD release, To Be Continued, in the Contemporary Folk category.
