We Were Kings

We Were Kings

Formed in 2010, We Were Kings was assembled by frontman Nate Ihara. He has pieced together his solo turned group effort with songs, band members, and producers one by one. Ihara formerly fronted the now defunct D.C. based band Welbilt before picking up the bass guitar for The Blackjacks, another popular band from the area currently by way of Nashville, TN. With himself fronting the project, the unofficial lineup additionally consists of Mike Smirnoff (No Second Troy and The Blackjacks) on drums, Cal Stamp on guitars and keys, and a small cast of a revolving members from various local and national bands. We Were Kings released their debut album "Ghost" with critical acclaim in late 2011.

Soundtrack for Silent Films

Soundtrack for Silent Films started as a solo music project in the makeshift home recording studio of Paul B. Soundtrack's debut album release, The Thief, was a one-man effort consisting of songs written and compiled by the musician over several years.

After the release of the self-recorded album in early 2011, Soundtrack morphed into a full band. The sophomore album, Carbon Copy, recorded at the legendary Inner Ear Recording Studios in Arlington, VA with Aloha's TJ Lipple, and released in December of 2011, introduced the additions of Matt Waller, Clay Lord, Andrew Gorski and Bill Ledbetter.

Soundtrack's musical style has been described as a mix between Folk Rock and Indie Pop 'n' Roll.

Cassidy Ford

An up-and-coming Washington, D.C. area performer and songwriter, Owen has song in his blood. Born into a musical family (his father, Bill, wrote such hit songs as Country Roads and Afternoon Delight, the latter earning him two Grammy awards in 1976), he has grown up surrounded by accomplished musicians. At age 16 he wrote his first song, but it was not until he was 20 years old, and soon to be a senior at Berklee College of Music (Class of 2011), that he began performing. He began the summer of 2010 with his first hometown performance at coffeehouse and venue Jammin’ Java in Vienna, Virginia, and closed it out with a performance at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage.

Owen's music has been described as a marriage of Jakob Dylan (& the Wallflowers) and Taylor Swift - lots of lyrical consideration, but with a healthy appreciation of pop and rock music. His other influences are many: Warren Zevon to John Mayer, Johnny Cash to Green Day. In live performance, his lyrical variety is obvious, a tongue-in-cheek number followed easily by a soulful ballad. On a solo show, Owen plays guitar, but prefers the bass and plays that when he is with a band. His ability to perform, combined with his comfortable, inviting stage presence form a talent that is not to be missed.
