The collaboration between North London electronic music producers Matt "rackNruin" Robson-Scott and Kye Jules "Foamo" Gibbon. They are currently signed to Black Butter Records and well known for their 2014 hit song "Ready For Your Love" (featuring MNEK).
Green Velvet, initially created by house don Cajmere (AKA Curtis Alan Jones) as an outlet for his non-vocal productions and frequent DJing gigs, grew to become even more popular than the man himself, thanks to club singles like "Preacher Man," "Answering Machine" and "The Stalker." Jones, who had nurtured the Chicago house renaissance of the 1990's with his Cajual Records, gained success in 1993 with the Cajmere single "Brighter Days" (with vocals performed by Dajaé). Later that year, he formed the sub-label Relief Records mostly for instrumental tracks by himself and others. Besides releases from DJ Sneak, Gemini and Paul Johnson, Green Velvet figured on many of the early Relief singles, including its first, "Preacher Man" as well as "Flash" (also released on the British label Open), "The Stalker" and 1997's "Answering Machine." Jones began to supplement his Green Velvet DJing schedule with quasi-live gigs as well, and released his first LP in 1999. His self-titled release on F-111 one year later compiled a dozen of his earlier club hits, and the proper sophomore production album "Whatever" appeared in 2001 on his own Relief label.
Matthew Dear's most recent excursions have found him at the doorsteps of the minimal-but-funky regime of techno music. Inspired by pioneers like, Mike Inc., Thomas Brinkmann, and Ricardo Villalobos, Dear has ingested, manipulated and re-introduced his version of this always changing and innovative realm of sound creation. Recent acceptance into the legendary Plus 8 roster and ever-popular Berlin based, Perlon label has solidified Dear as a viable source for pushing the boundaries of modern dance music while at the same time remaining focused on the simple goal of making people dance.
Lover. Fighter. Prophet. Freak magnet. Time-traveler. Musician, photographer and designer Jimmy Edgar is a wayward star-child streaking across the cosmic dance-floor. Endowed with a supernatural feel for futuristic funk, the Detroit native has been bleeping and grinding about the Milky Way since he was a teenage humanoid. While his peers were worrying about their grades and popularity Edgar was spinning alongside his hometown's DJ heroes and programming intricate beats that were unquestionably interplanetary communication disguised as dance music.
Italian DJ and producer, now based in London, UK. He is the founder of Snatch! Records.
DJ/Producer from San Diego, California.
The diva we all know as Dajae began her musical career in the early Eighties. Before joining forces with Cajmere, she was making R&B and singing in Soul bands all over Chicago.
The early nineties found Dajae as the Queen of Cajual Records working in a partnership with Curtis Jones (aka Cajmere / Green Velvet) and turning out a number of huge club anthems together. “Brighter Days”, “U Got Me Up”, “Is It All Over My Face”, and “Fakes And Phonies”, were all Top 10 Billboard Club Play and “Day By Day” made it all the way to #1! Those recordings were remixed by a “Who’s Who” list of the greats of House Music: Masters at Work, Johnny Fiasco, Glenn Underground, Todd Terry, Danny Tenaglia, Derrick Carter, Carl Craig, Chez Damier, Ron Trent, and Deep Dish.
Since then she has worked with Junior Sanchez and produced yet another Top Ten Billboard Club Play hit, “B With U”, on Roger Sanchez’s R-Senal imprint.
This woman is a driving force in House Music and her live appearances are what memories are made of!
