Jacob Aranda was born and raised in the rural Midwest and started playing the guitar and writing songs in his teens. He began performing regularly both solo and with bands like Paula Frazer and Tarnation and China upon moving to San Francisco in 2013.
In the tradition of songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen, and Jay Farrar, Aranda's music has a solemn gravity that is melancholy and beautiful, with haunting, often cinematic images of traveling through landscapes both external and internal. Listening to his songs is like walking in the desert late at night; your path is illuminated only by the pinpricks of stars, yet somehow you seem see everything clearly in the dark, the ground is firm, you will keep walking, and you know that Aranda's voice and words will guide you home.
Kylland is an American-Norwegian-Japanese composer, songwriter, & multi-instrumentalist currently based in Oakland, California. At present, she is making her first full length record, which will be released in 2017.
Joshua Hill is a multi-instrumentalist and composer currently living in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Music Theory and Composition with significant studies in Arabic language and Jazz. His love of music and other cultures has led him to travel, especially to North Africa and the Levant. His musical tastes are eclectic and varied from classical, folk, experimental, klezmer, rock, and many other styles. He has performed/collaborated with Qais Essar, Michael Krassner, Orange Theatre, Max Knouse, Jacob Adler, and many more. He has performed at SXSW, Treefort, and Meow Wolf in Santa Fe.
He performs regularly on violin, guitar, piano, bass, and singing.
