Native North America Gathering

Native North America Gathering

Native North America (Vol. 1) is a Grammy-nominated archival music compilation featuring twenty-five essential First Nations, Métis, and Inuit artists and groups. Between 1966 to 1985, these Indigenous trailblazers released an array of revolutionary folk, rock, and country records like the world had never heard before. Initially marginalized from the greater music community by racism, industry politics, and a lack of mainstream support, these crucial songs have now reclaimed their rightful place in the history of recorded sound. On Tuesday, August 8th, many of the box set’s veteran singers, songwriters, poets, musicians, and storytellers will gather from across Turtle Island for a once-in-a-lifetime concert celebration. Please help us to honour these legendary creators whose messages of love, awareness, and community have forever changed the cultural landscape, laying the groundwork for today’s vital Indigenous music scene. Let’s continue to make it known!
