When Taylor Meier and Evan Westfall take the stage, they get to do what they do every day – jam out. Taylor (lead vocals/guitar) and Evan (banjo/vocals/kickdrum) make up CAAMP, an indie-folk band originating from Columbus, Ohio. Taking after musical influences such as Ray LaMontange, Justin Vernon and Trampled by Turtles, CAAMP captures an old-school soulful sound while maintaining honest vocals. In fact, honesty is what the duo prides itself on.
Doc Robinson is an indie pop exploration of old school swagger; Motown soul meets contemporary alternative. Fronted by Jon Elliott of The Floorwalkers and Nick D'Andrea of Nick D' and The Believers, the ever-evolving outfit features an ongoing rotation of Columbus, Ohio's best players.
Doc Robinson worked with Mike Landolt (Maroon 5, OAR, Spin Doctors) to produce their debut EP Golden Daze, released in November 2016. The release earned enthusiastic attention from local tastemakers, early praise from blogs and opening slots for indie favorites including Rainbow Kitten Surprise and CAAMP.
When longtime friends and new collaborators, Elliott and D'Andrea, entered their first partner songwriting session, a shared love for narrative and natural knack for soulful melodies spurred a prolific outpouring of tunes. The pair recognized this compatibility and called upon creatives in local company to complete the project. Members of Mojoflo, Forest and The Evergreens, George Barrie Band, Hebdo, New Thousand and many more continuously contribute to the collective.
"Like everything we've done so far this album truly took a village," says Doc Robinson. "It was a community project from start to finish, with all our musical brethren pitching in and sharing their talents to color in our crude sketches and create a tapestry that reflects a little bit of all of our experiences."
Doc Robinson released it’s debut full-length LP Deep End on July 22, 2017.
