Luke Holland

Luke Daniel Holland is an American drummer and musician. Luke was born in Peoria, Arizona, to Douglas Holland, who is a professional drummer himself. Despite his father being a professional drummer, Luke gained interest in the drums after hearing his neighbor playing at the age of 10. From age 10 to 11, Luke started working jobs around his neighborhood so he could save up enough money for his own drum set. Unlike many different drummers, he played the snare drum in the marching band for one and half year at Peoria High School, and Luke is completely self-taught.

At the age of 15, after starting out in a local band, Luke was introduced to self-promotion online.[1] Luke then made a YouTube account on July 28, 2009, under the name LukeHollandDrums where he started to post self-made drum covers and remixes of songs. As Luke posted more videos, he started to gain more views on his videos and more subscribers. At the age of 16, Luke got a chance to stand-in as the drummer for Texas in July in Pennsylvania. Around the same time Luke's YouTube page was noticed by Josh Chomik, a fellow YouTuber known for his comedy music. After being recognized by Josh, Luke's YouTube channel started to take off, going from around a thousand subscribers to over nine thousand subscribers plus in a few days.[1] From 2009 to 2016 Luke's YouTube channel has grossed over 340,000+ subscribers, and over 55 million views.

Other than YouTube, Luke is known as being a member of the metalcore band The Word Alive. Luke started playing with The Word Alive in 2013 after they discovered him on YouTube, and Luke played and toured with them until the fall of 2016 when Luke decided to leave the group in order to pursue other passions.

In 2013, Luke was voted third on Alternative Press' Drummer of the Year, and second for Modern Drummer's Up & Coming.

Luke also worked as a session drummer for I See Stars on their album, Treehouse, which was released in June 2016.

In 2016, Luke worked as the drummer for Jason Richardson on his debut album "I" and in 2017 he toured with Jason on Polyphia's spring tour.

In 2017, it was told that Holland formed a new band called "Heavy Eyes" with ex-From First to Last guitarist, Taylor Larson.

The Reign of Kindo

Rare is it to find modern music that pinpoints the middle ground between a respect for past greats and a boldness to pave tomorrow. This is, quite modestly, the definition of The Reign of Kindo. Citing influences from Dave Brubeck to Ben Folds to Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto to John Mayer, there's not a degree of pomposity in this sound, just an honesty in the group's craft to blend such diverse influences into an identity so refreshing, unique, and universally personable.
