Alvarez Kings story starts from their humble roots in South Yorkshire.
Rising to popularity quickly the band would go on to sell out hometown shows, selling out of their first two releases and culminating in their single No Resolve being named Single of The Year by BBC Radio as well as coveting local awards including Best Band and Best EP.
With a foot hold in their native county, ambitions were set further afield in the UK which resulted in festival slots at Isle of Wight and O2 Wireless and sold out shows in many of London's famous venues including KOKO and The 100 Club to name a few.
Naturally, Alvarez Kings spread their music across the shores with successful tours of Europe – one supporting Echosmith - a three week tour of Canada and industry showcases at SXSW and CMJ in Texas and New York. This presented the band the opportunity to play a mammoth 40 date tour in the US - the infamous Vans Warped Tour - taking in 26 States and garnering them rave nationwide press reviews and a firm, dedicated fanbase. In fact Kevin Lyman - the festival owner - was so impressed with the band he invited them to perform Warped UK at the world famous Alexandra Palace in London and again playing the whole US tour again in 2015.
Alvarez Kings became reality TV stars when Fuse TV filmed the band's adventures on Vans Warped Tour for Season 2 of the hit TV show Warped Roadies.
2015 has become the year that all the bands hard work and dedication finally paid off. They signed a major record deal with Warner Bros / Sire Records. Their debut release on the label was the EP Fear To Feel which marked a change in direction from the bands typical indie-rock sound. The sound has become bigger, introducing new timbres such as string, brass synths alongside House-style production while maintaining Pop sensibilities at its core.
With more tours to announce in the near future and singles to be released over the coming months the future looks ever brighter for brothers Simon and Paul Thompson, Richard Walker and Sean Parkin.
Sly guitar riffs and warm drums resonate through the Hard Rock Cafe as Daily Grind plays a headlining set in their hometown of Pittsburgh, PA on December 27th, 2013. Loyal fans move closer to the stage to listen to and sing along with the suburbanite storytellers' fusion of alternative rock and hip-hop.
On stage are the core of Daily Grind: Brad Hammer on lead vocals and guitar, Myles Mahoney on lead guitar and vocals, Matt Majot on bass and vocals, and Chris Petteys on drums.
During a basement session in early 2013, the song "Don't Forget Me" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers lit the spark for these four spirits to become one cohesive unit. Daily Grind hit the Pittsburgh scene hard with a new lineup of original songs shortly after. Ranging from hip-hop to hard rock, their biggest musical influences include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys, Incubus, Biggie Smalls, and a slew of other classic and modern acts.
Daily Grind is independently producing their debut album "The Green Plan" for release in mid March before setting off on their first national tour. Tour stops include New York City, Denver, and Los Angeles, with over 50 shows in under three months. For videos, music, and tour dates check out Daily Grind's website at www.dailygrindmusic.com.
Jesse Denaro writes simple songs about complex things: love, homelessness, faith, remorse, death, and God Himself. Phrases turn, emotions connect, and melodies soar. You sing along even though you've never heard the tune before.
Jesse writes from an inner perspective wrestling with things he can't change, yet knows his life has purpose when he cries out "Someone Save My Life." Jesse's song construction will take you to unexpected places but when you arrive you're pleasantly surprised; as in the case of his recognition as finalist in 2009 Billboard Contest for his CD "Speed of Light."
GROW IN THEIR GIFTS"
Jesse has a way of packing a venue as he draws the audience in with his unassuming style and genuine humility. You want to like him! And he delivers. Then you're hooked. He has an uncanny way of crossing demographics from teens to thirty-somethings where they miraculously intersect at the lyrics, arrangements, and the infectious melody lines. When you listen to songs like "More Than Man" and sense his struggle with his purpose and his faith, you marvel that this is a man of only 20 years. With tens of thousands of downloads & iTunes sales, thousands of Vimeo YouTube hits, his fan-base stretches farther than he can physically.
Although Jesse toured extensively up and down the east coast from MA to FL, he's entertained audiences at Illinois' Cornerstone Summer fest; packed coffeehouse venues in quaint Warwick; recorded material in Atlanta and honed his style in Savanna, Daytona Beach, and appeared on radio programs in Nyack, New York. Recently, Jesse has toured the east coast as the drummer with the band "von Wolfe." He has been a featured guest on several radio programs including World Radio program in Nyack, New York.
As if he wasn't busy enough, Jesse is completing his Bachelor of Science in Recording Arts from Full Sail University this summer. The satisfaction he gets from helping others grow in their gifts provides another area of satisfaction for this young man.
Jesse will succeed not because every song written will be a "hit" but because he has good taste and instinctively knows what hits an emotional "nerve", what will be memorable, and what just "feels right." You'll agree when you find Jesse's songs stuck in your head and slotted in your favorite playlist.
