The Brooklyn What
The Brooklyn What are a rock n' roll band from Brooklyn, NY. Their first album, The Brooklyn What For Borough President was recorded in a few hours and released on their own Pozar Records in 2008. The Gentrification Rock EP was released in 2009 in response to the Atlantic Yards Project. South Brooklyn Singles EP was released in 2010, recorded in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The BKW have brought their live shenanigans all over New York City and beyond, playing with acts such as H.R. (Bad Brains), Joe Jack Talcum (Dead Milkmen), The Men, Mischief Brew, The Scofflaws, Japanther, Murphy's Law, The Shirts and Laura Stevenson and The Cans. They are currently in the studio recording their second full length album at Contintental Studios in Long Island City, Queens, slated for an early release in 2012.
Escarioka
Escarioka seguira promoviendo sabor, alegria, identidad, fuerza, densidad, patiadura etc.
Inky Jack's founding members found themselves working deep in the urban/pop machine (Cash Money, Diplomats, etc.) before they came out kicking and screaming, delving back into their indie roots with newly-minted pop sensibilities. Inky Jack is making real, fun, honest music that is resonating with people and growing their fan base. Having landed a monthly residency at Brooklyn's Trash Bar (named best punk bar in NYC in 2011 by the Village Voice), and recently playing the BK Indie Fest, CMJ, and SxSW, Inky Jack is ready to support their release with a live show that makes people move like they're sand-skiing in the dunes of Jamaica or just trying to pull on tight pants. The band coined the term "synthy soul-rock" to describe their records as well as their live shows, which consists of a system of drum machines and synthesizers in addition to the standard rock band components.
Inky Jack has been compared to TV on the Radio, Passion Pit, and Gnarls Barkley, among others.
Zebu!
ZEBU! was founded at Hampshire College in 2003/4. The powerhouse duo of Ted Lee (No Sound, Egg Eggs) and Steve D'Agostino (The Wild) create improvisational surf noise punk that defies the logic of rational musical creation. Originally called "Professor Fishface and the Fuckfaces", ZEBU! crafted its sound among the jam bands and stoned minds of a educationally vapid institution. Striving to reach great musical heights, the band has released 16 recordings that run the range of noise explosions to rock and roll classics. The band has shared the stage with such diverse musicians as The Mammals, Screaming Females, Gary Wilson, Laura Stevenson and the Cans, Exits to Freeways, The Can Kickers, etc.
